Got a mindset that nobody knows.
What a worthless thread. Your rating is just (1 - x) where x is your rating in the "How much do you love the person above you?" thread.
Are you really that uncreative?
10/10 targeted at OP
Considering I hate manga and think people who watch manga are wimps, I'd say you're pretty high on my hate list.
Go to work. Get married. Have some kids. Pay your taxes. Pay your bills. Watch your TV. Follow fashion. Act normal. Obey the law. And repeat after me: I AM FREE.
4/10, you're a cool kid, although it can be mildly annoying to read your posts.
I'm expecting a high score from a certain person.

Implies that love and hate are direct opposites. (they're not).
Even if they were, the amount of love and hate for a person is not directly dependant on how much you don't love them. For example, I don't hate theJoo one bit (0/10) so by your definition I should love him as a 10/10?
If you ARE going to do a direct co-relation thing, it would be "hate = -love" so that a 10/10 on the love scale is a -10/10 on the hate scale (not only doesn't hate, but less than 0 hate! i.e. love).
Also the idea of having both love and hate. The best example I can give for this is a rotten child. Sure, you hate them and how they piss you off and never listen, but of course you love them. Not mutually exclusive, nor co-related opposites.
Since pics are disabled, the following in an explanation on how to count better.
Ever tired of counting on your fingers and being stuck at 10? Here's the solution: Binary finger counting. Instead of counting how many fingers are up, you count which fingers are up. With only 8 fingers, you can count up to 255.
1. Ignore thumbs, they make this process harder.
2. Start with your rightmost finger. This finger represents 2^0, or 1. Your next finger represents 2^1, or 2. Try all the different combinations with these two fingers, you have a range from 0-3. Your next finger, 2^2 = 4, followed by 2^3 = 8 and so on.
3. Now you can count high! the finger combination 00110101 = 1+4+16+32 = 53.
I wouldn't think our forum community expresses outright hatred or love toward each other, the terms would express "general dislike/like" in a thread like this. Maybe someone like Devilesk or Chavo might give/receive real hatred, but the strong sense of the word doesn't apply here.
Even then, you're probably right that "f(x) = 1 - x" might not directly capture like/dislike, but I can chalk that up to the scale not being properly defined.
If you don't dislike TheJoo at all(0/10), this is still different from liking him fully (10/10). But would you say that if you don't like someone at all(0/10), that you dislike him fully(10/10)? Maybe not, but I would argue that many people centered 5/10 as a neutral point and assumed that being less than 5 implied dislike. I certainly did.![]()
3/10. I don't know you well enough to say I like you, but you seem clever and I see no reason to hate you other than the fact that you have a manga figure as your icon. Which is mild, really.

Hate is not the opposite of Love. Indifference is. For if I truly do not care negatively or positively about you that says volumes more than Love or Hate can achieve (if I know you).
Choosing between the lesser of two evil, but in the end you still choose evil. Screw that, I want a third option.
If moderation is a fault, then indifference is a crime.
The only thing necessary for evil to triumph in the world is that good men do nothing.
