    Teammate control of disconnected players

    Hello,

This following may come as a vent (it very well partly be), but I think it does have a core point that needs telling.
When people disconnect, your teammates control their heroes. Of course, this is necessary at times, but certain situations call for a different measure.
For example, I had to disconnect and reconnect due to some internet connection problem. I am sure a lot of players have the same problem with the game, but that is not the point of this post so I won't go there. When I reconnected, I had 3 deaths on my belt when before I disconnected I didn't have any. Another player thought it would be a good idea to use my character as a meat shield in team fights or walk me into kongor just for a whim of it. In the end these stupid acts go into MY stats and reflect on my skills when I did not do any such acts. I don't think it is fair to keep me accountable for the things I didn't do. I just ask for people to have an option to choose between letting other players control your hero when you leave, and not allowing them to have control when you choose not to. Just one checkbox in the gamplay option can not be too difficult to implement. Now to the inevitable reply I am to receive from posting this.

    R. Those things happen because you play in a low level pubs. If you don't like it, get a clan and don't play pubs.

    A. The fact that these situations only arise when I am playing in pubs may be correct. However, that still doesn't justify why no action should be taken in this matter. After all, not everyone plays clan matches all the time. I'd say over three quarters of the players are just moving from match making to another and rarely participate in clan matches. For the average player like me, public match making is where I play most often, and it is there that this issue takes place all the time.

Another issue I want to raise is the new item purchase system. It did make things a lot easier though it took some time getting used to. But now that I use it extensively, I've found some frustrating situations. When you click to buy a big item that needs multiple components and a recipe, it buys items according to the money I have, but sometimes when I rightclick the item, it buys the recipe and not the component. This game must understand that players usually do not want to buy the recipe until the very last component is bought. If one does want to buy the recipe specifically, then it is not too difficult to just click the item and buy it manually. Of course, this may warrant another elitist reply like, "use the old buying method, it is better and that won't ever happen." I would gladly discuss as to what "better" exactly is but this is not the post to do that, so I would just like to say that this is for the improvement of the NEW item purchasing system not the old one, and the new one needs some improvements.

    1) please separate your two suggestions into two threads
    2) add a poll to each (forum rules for serious suggestions)

I agree with the disconnect toggle box, even though I have never seen a disconnected ally being fed nor would I ever use this box myself. But more options/flexibility is always better than less. Personally, the few times I have had to reconnect, I might have an extra death or two, but also typically have several assists and much more experience as well.

I agree with the shop purchasing problem. My biggest frustration is when I want to start building Charged Hammer and it buys a Charged Hammer Recipe even before the Gloves for the Thunderclaw sub-component.
