One of the worst item builds for NH I've ever seen. The rest is very good.

That is ironc to hear, and a bit lolsworthy as you don't give your suggestions or explain why you think so, as the item build probably the SECOND BIGGEST THE REASON THIS GUIDE EXISTS.

I got immensly bored with absolutely every night hound i saw failing miserably trying any other build. I'm not saying they wouldn't work, maybe they do but I haven't ever seen anything even closely outperforming this setup in a serious game.

Also dislike the way people begin to whine and complain when you pick him (as if hes a terrible hero while they insist BS and slither are awesome). My build is a bit like yours, although I get elder parasite because I just love the burst of attack speed + movement speed. I've been playing around with frostburn and really do like it, even skipping nullfire.
Agreed 100 % on the elder parasite. Agreed 50/50 on the frostburn. agreed 110 % skipping nullfire. Execpt for versing And You can (Used to) be able to Dispell the spider off you, And you can dispell Pesti's ult.
Frostburn is ONLY used for chasing and the added speed in MY opinion. I get the Geo bane from the Firebrand so i dont use a frostburn, but if one game I feel we win any way, I might get a frostburn.
The reason why i get Parasite is because You use it while pouncing and you chase your opponent down easy.

    Just my thoughts here.

Okay, maybe not the worst build I've seen but it's certainly not the way it should be. Ghost marchers are pretty much useless compared to PT and you don't even consider buying PT. Power supply is HIGHLY hero-dependent so it's useless against heroes like Legionaire, Swiftblade, Chronos etc and you didn't say anything about that in your guide. Also, I really think you should buy soulscream rings on NH. These are the only items that give you hp and mana (while still boosting your agi a lot). Nullfire blade should be a core item, it's made for Nighthound. I won't even argue about that. Rest is fine.
Btw, make some of the text coloured so it's easier to read. I'd definitely like to see it as a premium guide if u did it.

I would say this is the best guide I have ever read in this forums so far. Good work there, I always have at least 10+ assists whenever I follow your build and play style.

What do other people think about brutalize as your first dmg item? I like the 6 str and the stun is pro to keep you facing there back for more crits. Not to mention the dmg. But the stun has to be pro for ganking, keeping them in your smoke bomb and all around setting up amazing positioning and pro for for chasing to get that extra back stab in.
I usually get ghost marchers first but i am still up in the air as to steamboots vs ghost marchers, btw i just started playing night hound.

I'm currently testing the Elder Parasite apporach which makes both Brutalizer and Post Haste interesting and viable, albeit a bit pricey.

Steamboots are WRONG. People dont seem to understand that +24 damage + 70 movespeed + 10% movespeed + unitwalking for 1500 that early in the game is great, and that you seriously need that 24 damage since your early damage is very low.

Steamboots give less damage if turned to agi even when you fully level backstab, and if they are turned to strenght give no damage at all. Their movespeed is way inferior, and the attack speed is not too impressive since you will be gaining and staciking AGI anyway. If you go Elder Parasite I believe Post Haste are the way to go.

Doesn't activating the boots break stealth tho? Which would make them horrible. Steamboots can at least contribute to your backstabs later on, if you switch them to agi.

    I would like to raise a few questions;

Ghost marchers, when activated, won't it make the enemy be able to see you?

And in a situation where bloodhunter as silenced+ulti'ed you, after the ulti has finished and the silence has aswell, he can still see me with bloodsense. In this instance, what should I do?

I would like to thank you ever so much for this guide. It has seen me win 6 games in a row, jump 120 psr, and go 1/0/24, 4/1/4, 12/3/17 etc.

Not all k/s either, last night I solo'ed a magebain who was farming nc's, pounce/smoke block from blinking /pounce again.

I never knew that stacking agi items would increase his backstab, I have seen myself do 312 critical damage by the 30 min mark. Tanking kong, and taking down enemy tanks.

Thanks, this guide makes noobs like me really understand how this game works, and how this character works.

is hacknslash still good after it got nerfed the prev patch?

i'm trying to test out nullfire + riftshard right away, and wingbow later.. nullfire is so useful in many ways.

  14. #214
I find firebrand+abyssal+riftshardsx3, then making wingbow,

Is better than including nullfire. Unless you are facing pesti/arach, then nullfire for dispel ftw.

Does ghost marchers make you visible when activated or not?

Umm, hacknslash does lower damage than nullfire since it got nerfed (agi). Also nullfire blade does more damage since it combusts mana too. I think I tried despelling zypher's shield before and it worked lol.

About the ghost boots yea it makes you visible, so you gotta use them inside the trees or something when they can't see you, wait for your invis cool down and just proceed.

I am awesome, and I approve of this guide.

While you literally did get everything right, I play NH slightly differently.

NH is a burst DPS char. Yes he's a chaser but in team fights, if you can't kill someone asap you're doing it wrong. For this I go pure damage and agi.

    Ghost Marchers: Core
    Iron Shield: Core
However I go Whispering Helm over Abyssal because late-game you have no mana issues and early-mid game you should not have mana issues because you should not be spamming random crap. Whispering Helm's +20 damage combined with Ghost Marchers +24 (iirc) damage and with an early-game Iron Shield mean you can start farming very well and you can legitimately start 2 hitting bad int heroes as soon as mid-game rolls around.

As for Frostburn or Icebrand or w/e, I usually just start going for Wingbow at this point.

[Edit] Nevermind, after leech I go for Nullfire. NH's best friend. HotD, Diffusal, and Phase boots are all core on NH. Damage, agility, leech, the only thing he really needs.

Also, when playing against a carry heavy team (auto-attackers) I'll forgo leech and go for HotBL. I'll grab leech after, but HotBL literally makes all of NH's health problems go away (with careful play of course).

Otherwise, spot on on the guide. I normally hate guides because the people who make them have no idea wtf they're doing, but this NH guide is legitimate in its information and portrayal of NH's unique playstyle: The playstyle of the 2nd-into-the-fight carry.

little dumb question. Savage mace says True Strike, wats exactly being true? the hero's attack (i.e it negates all forms of armour/damage immunity/shields/etc) or just the item's bonus damage?

If this is not retarded powerful I honestly don't know what is.
