amazing guide! made me even a way better nh
i love power supply! helps so much ingame especially for early/earlymidgaming saves your life!
i remember slithers ult man without powersupply i would have been dead i ended up with like 10 hp
I've been trying Fenrir's out - but I haven't noticed any significant boost, or loss, in ability. If I'm doing my normal 20-5-15 game, I still rock. If I'm doing my normal 0-10-0 game, I still suck. It seems to be a NH item, but not gamebreaking.
I've tried Power Supply / Iron Shield / Steam Boots / Slash / Abyssal Skull / Fenrir's / Nullfire, and tried swapping Fenrir's / Nullfire.
My final items aim to be Steam Boots, Geometer's, Wingbow, Abyssal Skull, Frostwolf Skull and Nullfire. Fenrir's / Frostwolf has a bunch of +str/+agi, which is good for images and backstab. Previously the last slot would be Riftshards or Behemoth's Heart, though I've only got to this point in one game since it's a ridiculous amount of gold required.
So first, if I'm getting Fenrir's, I'm wondering if I should bother getting iron shield, or if I should get some major totems instead... And I'm wondering if I should get nullfire before fenrir's, or vice versa. Or if I should even wait for wingbow before getting fenrir's.
The slow from Fenrir's / Frostwolf seems like a great idea for chasing with Pounce, and the extra health never hurts. I'm wondering if it stacks with the move/attack speed slow of Smokebomb.
Still not sure if it's a good use of money before nullfire (and wingbow)...

This not being updated is a crime.
It will be updated and it is allready revised, but everything is still changing so fast that i have to rewrite an already novel lenght guide too much. Basicaly i'm waiting for te new hack and slash remake for the next version, and the boots section seriously needs a revamp as i have been having great success with ghost marchers (speed ftw).
Invisibility section has been updated, working on the skill-items build section.

You might want to fix Wordisms, like the broken apostrophes. That particular software uses different character codes for apostrophes and some other similar characters than everything else ever.
So i just tried ice burn (thats the name i think, the new hack'n slash) on night hound.
My god... Its so good! I went for agi steamboots, then eldar parasite and hack'n slash, not an inordinate amount to farm on nighthound.
But once you get it, it gives you everything, i was sitting on 1800hp, with +30 attack speed, then MORe attack speed form parasite, a total of +15% and +20% movespeed, so nothing could outrun me AND a slow thrown into the bargain.
The new hack'n slash is definatly worth a look, i went from 0-3-2 in that game to 13-6-5. You can literally tear apart anything because you keep them in your silence for so long, and your movespeed is totally insane. i htink its about 486 BEFORE eldar parasite.

Spotted something wrong: Well, I find that the mana burst from Mana Battery and the damage reduction from Iron Shield are way better than the small stat bonuses from soulscream rings, and are significant all the way to late game. These two items give the same amount of damage as 3 Soulscream rings with fully leveled backstab but take one less inventory slot. Don't go Soulscream on NH, it's a way inferior choice.
Well you noted that these two items give the same amount of damage as 3 SS Rings, but thats' very false, (+6 shield, +3 power supply) and +6 each ring is 18 versus 9. I do agree with you though that you shouldn't get SS rings, because I tend to get Loggers/IS/Power on NH and I usually don't have much room for it at all.
Honestly though, this guide keeps getting better and even ridiculously larger. Good work.
Yes those two items give 9 agi and 9 more comes from backstab shortly afeterwards, so for what it's worth, you'll be getting your 3 Soulscreams worth of damage almost whenever it counts.
Nice observation, though, huge guide is huge and this means you've been reading carefully![]()
Anyone else enjoying making Frostburn, then taking it apart for Geometer's / Frostwolf later?
i never considered nh being a heavily support orientated hero, this guide has made me want to give him a shot!
I normally shy away from anything with a role based around carrying or hard carrying, I much prefer support
Fantastic guide, if it isn't premium I will ragequit hon :P
Well, youre still a semi-carry with the bes last hitting skill in the game and can deal very good damage, but castin smoke bome at the right time (every fight) and in the right way is incredible support, as well as scouting - youre a movable observer ward.
Just learn to use the smoke and then proceed to dps, pounce and gtfo with pounce, you are both a good supporter and damage dealer.
Soulscream Ring x3 = 9 Str, 18 Agi, 9 Int
Iron Shield + Power Supply = 3 Str, 9 Agi, 3 Int
Yes, while backstabbing with IS/PS, 9 Agi = 18 Damage. But while backstabbing with SRx3, 18 Agi = 36 Damage. Your guide is really good, so it hurts me to see this logical error. You can't compare the items in the way you did.
Iron Shield + Power Supply IS the better choice, every time, for the awesome survivability they offer without losing too much dps. But stick to the good points, don't try to make something up. >; - )
on another note - what is your ideal last 6 items?
I agree with Nullfire, Wingbow, Abyssal and Boots (though I think Steamboots is better than Marchers because of the IAS) - but the last two vex me.
Geometer's Bane and Frostwolf's Skull vs Frostburn and Riftshards. Just not sure if Frostburn / Riftshards can really stand up to the first pair. Your thoughts?
Concerning the damage dillema u seem to be misunderstanding, its not that you get the worth of 3 soulscream rings ON YOU, but the worth of 3 Soulscream rings on anyone else. I'm testing a build with two additional soulscream rings for a lot of early damage, and its working so feel free to add them to the core...
Final items? Last few days I was going Ghost Boots (for the burst chasing, invaluable), Wingbow, Abbysal Skull, Frostburn, Critical, then turn Frostburn into Geometers and Frostwolf Skull. You can use practicaly anything in the last slot, even Brutalizer is good, and if you know how to swap modifiers, which is easy, you can get Shieldbreaker for insane damage. Alternatvely use an utility item . Puzzlebox, Shrunken Head, Kuldra's Sheepstick, whatever you or the team need most.
Possibly make it more Colorful, more how to say ... well i would say more clean or proper .... Then people see that where is white there is useless stuff and where is some colors there is some useful tips ....
I suggest make the text normal sized and only the damn subtitles/titles be big ....
(PS! Im saying that cause i want this guide to premium guides =P)
How about making some screen shots and giving tips on laning (^^')
A video would be a good experience =P Like the BH guide had ... =)
It all depends on nyou, do you want it to be premium guide ?
Since there at the moment is no premium night hound guide =)
Im just saying that, you dont have to take it all that seriously but the text is huge .... make it please smaller =P
if you use abyssal skull, wont the enemy team immediately try to find you when they see the auras on creeps?
