My site, http://honmatch.com is now live!
It is dedicated to bringing you the latest and best matches, replays and live streams. The idea is to track matches and replays and organize them so that you can easily browse and watch them without having to search for very long.

Some of the features are:

• Live Pro Player Streams
• Recent Tournament Matches and Replays
• A Matchmaking (MMR) Ladder
• High Level (1850+) Matchmaking games and replays
• Match filter by hero
• Competitive Hero Usage

Update: Due to popular demand, the styling and layout for the site has been updated.
Update2: The hero usage page is now live!

The site has been getting a lot of small improvements over the past week. More to come!

I'd have to agree about the background and font.. I'm not really a designer so I just improvised something. The vast majority of the work went into getting the match tracking and ladder working... It's just too bad you guys can't really see it in action yet!

I'll have to give the design another look and spice things up again for sure though.

Yea, I've been giving some thought to adding a "Community Steams" section or something. I'm not sure though, as the whole point of the site is to showcase the best of the best...

Yea, I'm pretty much entirely dependent on the XML. I've had the site ready to launch for over a month but was waiting for the xml to be fixed. I decided I might as well just get it out there and just restore the service to the other pages once the XML is working again. (Hopefully soon!)

As far as the steams not being in English... most of them are, but some of the best players are not native English speakers and sometimes switch to their native language when playing with friends, etc. I can't control this, and definitely don't want to remove them just for speaking another language... they are amazing players!

As I have heard, honcast has exclusive rights to tournaments (as not even gamereplays can cast there own tourns) So.....

Has potential. Would be cool if there was a way to upvote/downvote replays so you could have like a Top 10 Replays of the Week/Month/All-Time

I honestly don't understand what's so bad with Comic Sans. Aside from the fact that it's an unwritten rule that it it's not to be used in a professional setting and that it's generalized as a terrible font that's hard to read, there's nothing really wrong with it

Honestly I think it's just the stereotype it developed that makes people hate it. It's not that far from Calibri or Arial (well arial is a bit of a stretch but still) and people still hate on it

Anyways I would say that community stream would be a good addition, as well as maybe your own personal top 10 plays of the month (if week is too much work for you or if you aren't a good video editor.)

Although I should caution you about one thing; decide early if you want to focus on ONLY competitive HoN, or if you want to expand to community HoN, and stick to it. If you don't make that distinction, I think the website will deviate too much and it will become a cluster**** of random HoN stuff.

For site design, and the whole thing looking fairly boring... I didn't put a lot of time into the design and instead focused on the 'coolness' of the matches feed. Unfortunately I'm handcuffed by the lack of XML support right now, so you guys can't really see any of it. I totally agree that I need to put in some more time on the layout and look and feel of the site. I'm a developer, not a designer so any suggestions are always welcome! I've just been improvising for now.. it feels weird not having a design document to work from.

For community streams, etc. I think I'm going to hold off for now and focus purely on competitive matches and players. I may include a sub-site for community content down the road, but it's a lot simpler to just focus on one thing for now.

As far as fonts go, Verdana is clean, simple and is used everywhere. I won't be changing that. The only font I would potentially change in the one in the headings and the menu.. but only if it got a lot of hate.

I agree that voting on matches and replays would add a lot to the site. Again though, none of that can be functional while the XML is down.

With regards to a top-10 plays of the month/week, etc. I am not a video editor and have no plans on creating video content at this point. I'm also not a shoutcaster and won't be commentating any games. There shouldn't be a conflict of interest with shoutcasting sites like HonCast. Nobody owns the match stats and replays for tournament games... (Aside from S2 obviously)
