African Elephant Behemoth - a Natural Evolution in Character Design

Take a look at the average match of Heroes of Newerth. What do you see? War? Struggle? Murder? Genocide?

No creature upon God's Earth knows such pains more than the African Elephant. Hunted by mankind over the centuries for nothing more than worldly goods, this proud behemoth of a creature faces extinction, and the average African Elephant is forced to contemplate its own mortality every single day.

It has always been my firm belief that the world portrayed in Heroes of Newerth is in fact a depiction of a post-apocalyptic earth - there are many factors that help to prove this theory:
    • Humanoid creatures displayed within the game are grossly misproportioned (see: Legionnaire's head).
    • In the Forests of Caldaver map, half of the lush greens are clearly burnt or otherwise destroyed by what could only have been a nuclear device.
    • Strange creatures roam the forests, clearly beings born of immense mutation from radioactive fallout
Though I have presented only a few points, I am confident you will agree with my perception of this world.

It is this portrayal of a desolate and starved Earth that causes many Heroes to ally themselves to a cause known as "The Hellbourne". This loose confederation of Heroes have evidently forgotten all that is pure, all this is good, and all that is sacred - and know not what to fight for.
This also has a subconcious effect on those playing the game. I am certain that every one of you who reads this will have experienced a game containing a player with poor attitude - someone who may have told you to "kill yourself", or to "hop on a plane to dignitas". This anger originates from their sorrow at seeing their world in such a state, and could possibly be reversed if the Earth were somehow restored.

It is through intense study and research that I have determined the current-day Behemoth Hero is in fact the irradiated remains of what once was an African Elephant. How do I know this? Take a look:
    • Behemoth cannot talk, as Elephants cannot talk.
    • Behemoth is grey. Elephants are grey.
    • Elephants have a trunk. Behemoth holds a trunk.
Once again, my evidence is simply irrefutable. Behemoth is clearly an African Elephant - raped of all goodness, pureness, and sacredness. But this could all be fixed thanks to the in-game innovation known as the "Item Shop" - or, as those in Newerth will soon be calling it - the saviour.

With the introduction of an African Elephant skin for the Behemoth hero, the world could begin healing - thanks to the reintroduction of goodness, pureness, and sacredness. This addition would have far more than a mere visual upgrade - introducing the African Elephant to this scarred world could potentially reverse the evil present in the hearts of many players, greatly improving the community and helping the Human race ascend to even greater heights.

It is my understanding that my words may not be enough, and thus, I have meticulously prepared the following concept art for your designers in order to aid them in production of this saviour:

    The Q Ability:

    The W Ability:

    The R Ability:

I hope these images will help you incorporate this crucial idea into your game, for the good of the human race.

What follows is an image many may not be able to comprehend:

This is the anticipated ingame experience a player could have when playing African Elephant Behemoth. Notice the glorious radiance of goodness, pureness, and sacredness.

I thank you for reading and I hope you will spread the word. Remember: the reintroduction of the innocence of the African Elephant may be the only thing that could save this broken world.

I give S2 Games full permission to implement this idea into their game if they see fit - I simply want to save the souls of many.

Buy the courier at the beginning of the match. This magically frees you from the responsibility of buying wards.

That the game is taking place in a post apocalyptic is old news (from 2002 actually). The very first line on this page states that:
After surviving near extinction from the 'Apocalypse' millions of years ago, humans are reuniting under a common goal.
The same goes for Behemoth evolving from elephants. Just take a look at this page:
This enormous beast is descended from elephants.

It warms my heart to see such approval for goodness. Perhaps there is hope for our souls yet.

We can only hope a member of S2 sees this thread.
