Sure, a million dollar tournament is great, but why not spread that out into 10+ 100k tournaments and generate hype for a whole ****ing year instead of 1 massive splash. Jesus christ.

Because this gets people who are on the fence about how it will compete (like me) to say, "holy hell, they just did more than HoN has done since release when its still in beta." This greatly implies that this will indeed be a great competitive game, and the company is willing to man up and truly get behind it. We also do not know what else they have planned, gamescon has and 80k tourny dealing with dota2, there may be more.

Wonder how the s2 people will address this in the podcast tonight. They said about a month ago that they are working on something that will revolutionize gaming. A good answer to this would be to give some details about what that is.
