s2 is like angels compared to cash whore valve is.. it will probably be b2p with item shop, and f2p with 90000 more items after a year..
If you don't think Valve knows they can make it P2P at 30-50 bucks because of their built in fanbase and then make it free, like TF2, you're wrong.
Not saying they will, just saying they easily could. Besides how many games has Valve actually made that wasn't already based on a mod (four out of twenty?), they are worse than S2, they just have slicker PR.

theres only a handful of hats and copies of weapons in tf2 that are promotional that you cant get otherwise
EVERY other item can be randomly found or crafted
they dont pull cheap tricks either.
a $2.50 key is $2.50. NOT some retarded amount of coins that you have to buy and then end up with an odd amount that you cant buy anything else with unless you buy more

Free 2 Play isn't a bad model.
Its only bad when you sell power, hero selection in this game's genre is power, that is why HoN F2P is flawed and the EAP system is ultimately flawed, it unbalances the game.
HoN was about competitive RPGPVP, its competitor LoL is about selling vanity and advantages in the way of runes and heroes, now HoN is going down the selling vanity and power route, you can't take a game like that seriously as a competitive game ever.
They will take your money more than HON did.

I think it's probably going to turn out very true. Regardless, I have just as much reason to speculate about that as the people who say "OMG DOTA2 WILL BE SOOOOOO PERRRFECT CANT WAIT".

Valve just have better programmers who can create game without many bugs. And Valve servers mutch better
DotA2 is gonna suck too but at least the company has experience and knows what they're doing.
S2 clearly doesn't, no matter how much they feel they do.
