    Textures - Awake.
These guys have been doing progressive early djenty stuff since about 04'? Incredible band.
The above track is much more melodic, but beautiful stuff.

Also check out "Millstone" by them also.

    "WHOOOOOOSH!"
    "Genocide."

Best song by SlipKnot in my opinion is People = ****
Stats are like women in bikinis, they are interesting to look at however they don't show you everything.

Shame FFDP aren't highly respected by anyone but the same people that listen to Slipknot and a few others. People thought Slipknot were **** before they became really popular.

Not really a fan of the vocal style Textures use.

Edit: Okay, he stopped using clean vocals after a while and the song suddenly got way djentier and much better. Still, the first half of the song was too uninteresting. Might check out more.

Also Slipknot are ****ing yes nu-metal. Claiming they aren't just means you have no idea what you're talking about.

I don't think this has been linked yet. Swing + metal is not a bad combo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDSCSvyfyAk

On a completely unrelated note, we've got an IRC channel on Chattingaway (the same S2 uses for their channels). Join #metal for random discussion if you like, we're currently only 2-3 who joins every now and then. :P

Not a very heavy song for them, 90% clean singing. But his voice is epic so it's awesome.

    Thanks Thysios, they are awesome.

Just got back from the jaeger tour London (won VIP tickets) I got to meet skindred and drink (heavily) with them. Benji is an absolute legend . black spiders were amazing, The defiled were mental for an opening band (They also threw a keyboard into the crowd!!) I didnt see Threrapy as I was too busy drinking the free drinks from the VIP bar with bands + members of the press. Overall amazing night

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vk0l1dIZqMo Great.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_REyCg5DfE Also great.

One thing that has annoyed me lately is how ridiculously hard it is to find Population Control anywhere, legal or otherwise. A shame really.

An atmospheric (Canadian!) black metal band: Miserere Luminis.

Here is a playlist of their only album (which has the same name as the band): http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list...eature=mh_lolz

If you can get your hands on it (and I seriously don't know if you can, legally at least - even took a bit of time and on sketchy websites to get it for myself), go for it!

Mayhem 2012 lineup is somewhat lackluster. slayer slipknot and AILD. everything else is dumpster tier.

    METAL \m/ \m/

    Some of my favorites:

All Shall Perish - There is no business to be done on dead planets (Death-Core)
The Black Dahlia Murder - Deathmask Divine (Melodic Death Metal)
Death - Flesh and the Power it holds (Arguably the best death metal band)
Decrepit Birth - Await the Unending (Technical Death Metal)
Slayer - Dead Skin Mask (Thrash Metal)
Opeth - Black Rose Immortal (Progressive Folk Metal [in this album])
Taake - Doedskvad III (Black Metal)
Obscura - Incarnated (Progressive Death Metal)
The Absence - Necropolis (Melodic Death Metal)
At The Gates - Cold (Founders of Gothenberg Melo-Death sound)
Decapitated - Symmetry of Zero (Brutal Death Metal)
Vital Remains - Dechristianize (Death Metal)
Dissection - Black Horizons (the most popular black metal band)
Necrophagist - Fermented Offal Discharge (Tech Death)
Amon Amarth - Cry of the Black Birds (Melodic Folk/Death Metal)

Listening to these will raise your IQ 15 points as well as grow curly man-hairs on your chest and ballsack.

Be'lakor's new album is ****ing fantastic; and from what I gather Kreator's will be as well. Seriously though I'm on about the 21st run through of Be'lakor, great to finally have the album and be seeing them in Sydney within a month

/Wintersun released an album update: gonna be in two parts with one released in September this year. ah mah gawd yes

And to IstabbedZach above ^^, Necrophagist is so damn good, actually was in a high school band called 'Fermented Offal Discharge'. SO much fun

    Thanks AvunaOs for the sig!
