The Eye had a pretty good format, so I jacked his.
Numbers, of course, can be changed, so vote for the idea.

Summary
A new item in initiation, cheap enough to go to your lane with. Thematically designed to be the parallel of Ring of the Teacher, it keeps the mana regen from scarab. It adds an experience bonus, an effect not in the game at the moment. The tradeoff being the negative armor and a slot taken that adds nothing in the way of combat stats.
Seems a little imba tbh, I could not see a reason not to get this item.
When I saw the name, I had this idea: Something that increases (by like 10% or something) all the passive auras that have an effect on you
Quite op yes.
10% is too much for an item that's that cheap.
I would suggest 20% more damage to NPC's with it rather than the 10% or have it at like 2% or something.

Please god no. If an xp gain item was ever implemented, it would be a requirement for every hero to get an turn normal games into em games. If you really require faster xp, play em, that's what it's there for.
Yeah an item like this shouldn't really belong in a game like HoN.
However, simply to continue with this idea, ways to help balance this item out would be to make this item unsellable, so that you can't buy it early and sell it back later to exploit its 10% exp bonus. (You could drop it on the ground or something though of course).
Also, the price would need to be higher, may be around 1000. 500 is pretty easy to farm, and making it 1000 will really make people ask themselves if farming Ring of the Teacher and then farming a 1000 with no other items would be worth it.
Okay then, what if the -2 armor was turned into 10% extra damage taken? The idea is giving up stats and a slot for a small exp boost. If you die because of the extra 10% damage, you lose out on a lot of the exp you gained from it in addition to time/money.
Yes, everybody needs Alchemist Bones.
Personally I think -2 armour isn't enough of a debuff to balance the power of this item with it's added mana regen. Maybe if you made it a 600 gold item that only granted the xp bonus, was unsellable and made you get zero xp from enemy denies, it could be a risky and situational item with a decent payoff.
Unfortunately, your idea seems more like a hardcore mod for the game. I'm just kidding padawanabee, but i do think its original for sure, maybe what you could do is perhaps give up gold from kills for extra exp, or vice versa. I just think -2 armor just isn't enough of a disadvantage to the item.
I must agree with the other posters, adding extra experience (even for a price) is probably too OP. Imagine a jungle Tempest or Wildsoul with this for example, even with -armor he could farm like crazy. It would turn into a must-have item for all players to keep up and will take up extra space in the inventory slot. When everyone HAS the item it's basically the same as when no one has it except for previously mentioned inventory slot.
Sorry mate, have to t-down.
A definite no-no. Sorry, but i'll vote down any item/skill/hero that can gain experience faster. I didnt vote down yet, because i think, you could find a different (and original) idea.
Change the bonus XP. Otherwise, this would be the starting item for every hero in the game.
Good idea ImpBloody.
Balancing an item like this is too difficult and is too awkward to fit into the current metagame. The only reasonable tradeoff for this item is to have a gold penalty.
