I like the one with more focus and black background, not too sure about the white gloss(?) though, at least not as much as that. But definately the one to the right.

So I guess focused it's the way to go, now the background im not 100% sure. What would transparent look ? If you check my current icon, would it be like that but without the kiwifruit , just that kiwibird standing there? That might be cool. Not yet sure..

Gloss can always be toned down or removed. Transparent would make it so that only the turtle is shown, the "background" will have the same color as the background behind it, both on the forums and in-game. Like if you removed the kiwi in your icon. However I wouldn't use a transparent background unless you want the whole body. It would just seem weird that some parts of him are cut out without some defined border.
Edit: Worked further on the right image to your preferences, one with no gradient at all (appears transparent in this post cus it's black background on black) and one with gloss. The gradient is used to give some depth to the picture and make the rounded corners much clearer, however when you put icon up on the forum it will be visible cus it's on a different background.
Hopefully you can figure out what kind of style and source image you want and we can take it from there.

Thank you both, ehm, I think background with stripes was cool, neutral colors, not anything special, and the important thing is that they aren't too different from eachother. And thank you too for the first versions but we really like the sexy backgrounds.
So what I'm saying is that we want stripes as background and then nothing fancy. Great job, that for every picture thank you
