Hell i was gonna tell this... These icons are 128x128, and the one in chat is about 25x25? Why adding a name in the icon? Anyways, i'm glad that you were here while i left!

Hey man, Im sorry but can you take out the gradient glare over hommers face? since the image is too "white" it make it look not so sharp.
only the resize and the rounded edges already look cool. maybe you could use some gradient effect on the edges only to make it look like a botton or something...

mostly the face/hair/tie , you can cut out parts of the bottom bit if you want.

If possible make the background more appealing with some nice somethings? purplish maybe?

A dark purplish, or light pinkish, whatever you think looks better. This is for an account icon.
