when resizing an image try to keep proportions, cause making it look like a stick isn't what you want, also the layer called "Border NOT WANTED" in the template, if using photoshop have your image selected and then hold CTRL and click on the thumbnail of the border, that will make a selection, just press Backspace or delete and there is your rounded edges!

I think that our own tries are the best even if they are simple lines with MSpaint Good job mate!

im still getting background edges when i try this like white/black lines outside the rounded part

no matter what i do i cant get those white edges to go away, ive tried transparency and alot of stuff but to no avail

Can someone fix me an icon from this classic picture?
Would like it to have those round edges. Maybe some color correcting if you have the time and think it would make it better. Not sure about the top-shine-thingy. Thanks.

You`re getting the background because you`re saving it as a jpg. JPG doesn`t support tranparent background as PNG or GIF do. So save it as a PNG and you should be fine.

Umm Hm idk I don't really like the picture anymore it just doesn't seem to look good with anything

And uhh fit it to the left side of the picture and cutting off 1/3 of the bottom of the render also would be good...

@ROT: Try cropping the pictures, not distorting!

Yeah @ROT Try to keep proportions by cropping while holding shift (in photoshop) to make a perfect square and then proceed with changing the image size to 128x128... Also I can't help to notice that you are using the template provided by OP and I see the standard (blue, grainy) backgound popping out on some icons you've tried to make


EDIT: If some people want I can make a tutorial for the icons and how you use the template
