    I like the idea, however, I don't go afk at mmr queu most of the times. But that's just me.

    On a side note: I almost never pick the same hero every game, only when I'm really happy about my own playstyle and the game overall.

    Woah broh. Why the beef with mid. He can cs just fine, has ganking potential.
    EDIT: Oh and dont get me started on his rune grabbing capabilites! His first skill can block any non blinking hero from even leaving the lane : Hence why their faces look so upset.

    T-up. Had 2 crashes today right after joining a game, first time randomed something utterly useless for my team, second time an OK char tho....

    In either case I was not a happy camper as we had lineup planned already

    I like it. The idea is great and it does allow for that specific player to not end up with something he or she has never played before.

    What it does not, is take the general line-up on your team, into consideration.. I think it requires a more complex system, than a 3-hero pool to pick from.. Im thinking something along the lines of three categories - Support/Carry/Tank or Agi/Int/Str.. But even that, will be hard as balls to work out in the end, as it would require the 4 other players on the team, to participate in choosing what hero this "randoming fella" is going to play, in order to synergize with the already determined line-up.. Furthermore, it's hard to categorize, as there are Str carries aswell as Str "support" heroes, just to make an example..

    In regard to the penalty, I totally agree.. There should be some sort of penalty, for not bothering with going through the picking phase with the rest of your team, to see what the ideal line-up is.. A gold penalty on a team-member, is however, as much a loss for the player himself, as it is for the team he is on.. Sooo - it's tricky..

    Your idea encourages AFK during lobby. My idea gives the team a chance to compensate.

    Yep serious and didn't you understand "if you're not showing a hero, random picks for you at 5s (warning counts down where hero is shown)"?

    If you haven't already shown a pick, you get a random right-click hero at 5s. You can still change the hero. If someone else picks that hero you get a different right-click hero.

    That's the thing that is the problem. It's still random. The randomness destroys the games, generally. Bad hero for the lineup is bad, but if the player can atleast play him, it's atleast an improvement to the 'bad hero, 'CANT PLAY HIM SOZ' situation.

    I personally love the idea. With seemingly more frequent occurrences of the K2 error crash, it has the potential to ruin games, specifically in lower tiers where people probably don't know how to play all of the heroes, let alone play them effectively. You should be allowed to nominate a set of 3 heroes that you auto-pick if you haven't picked yet, and if they're all taken you get stuck with the random.

    Yes but your solution encourages 'defaulting' and so makes the lineup problem worse.

    I also think S2 won't implement it because they'll have to add a new button to the menu along with full hero selection. What about making the default your most player hero?

    How bad is this randoming problem at different brackets? It's not that common around 1400, maybe 1 in 10 games on my side.

    Also, one of the things that's caught me out a couple of times is that you have to pick a hero and an alt (or RClick a hero) for HoN to not random.

    what about game crashing when you join a game, you're unable to pick? i think those 40 (+/-) seconds aren't enough.

    p.s. - an idea

    what about adding a game mode that works like BP but there are no bans?
