Yes.
No.
I guess you all get this some time:
A. You start HoN, join MM queue, you grab yourself a drink untill you drop your glass of soda. BRB fixing. You get back to the computer and you see Ophelia as your hero.

B. Above scenario except for the fact that some other player TOTALLY ruined your lineup. You needed an excellent mid hero and he randomed Behemoth.

Suggestion: In the shop (?) you can select 3 heroes that you will pick at the end of a match. If 1 is unavailable, you get 2. Nr. 2 unavailable, you get 3. Nr. 3 unavailable? Too bad it's the random!
This will prevent (in most cases) lineups to be completely ruined. There will be a small penalty like -100 gold at the start, leaving you with 503g.
If you have thoughts about this, please give me constructive feedback!
Casual HoN
Why have a gold penalty?

Seems like quite a good idea had about 3 games today where people t/o during picking phase and get stuck with a random.
a pause during picking phase would be better tbh.
Though in most cases you could just get all your **** together before you start and if something does happen during the queue time you can always cancel
After the game starts if you haven't picked it should show you only your team and let you pick (to prevent counter picking by picking after the game timer). This lets you pick anyone you want (or according to the mode), but it also suffers a 100g penalty. Have this as an optional setting so that people may chose to random by default.
T-up.
Hate when people don't pick anything and they random scout in the end.
whats wrong with oph?

Don't like it. As we all know the majority of HoN players prefers to play carries or mid heroes. So most ppl would select 3 carries/mid heroes, means the chance that you get a bad hero for your team increases, while with the current system there's a good/better chance to get a supportive hero or at least not another carry.
For the team it's still like a randomed hero (most likely even worse, see above) but instead of getting 250gold you should lose 100? Sorry, but that makes no sense.

If they random a carry hero or support hero wont change the fact that they are retarded non-communicational noobs, and it wont matter jackshit to them if they get their frostburn and doombringer on voodoo or night hound.
So better let them play a hero where they will actually do what the hero is suppose to right?
This thread isn't about "tards" who don't communicate and pick and do whatever they want, it is about people randoming when they don't choose any hero because of being afk/on desktop or something.
And I've never seen someone who was afk then comes back and says "wtf I randomed VJ, **** this I will buy doombringer"
Its a good idea but you really shouldn't be AFKing during the picking phase anyway. Maybe I'm not understanding the suggestion properly though.
Clarification?
The sign of lost Carcosa appeared in the air, paralyzing us with dread older than the very idea of time.
As we looked on in horror, the unholy sign dissolved into a lone figure, shrouded in yellow.
Or you could be pro enough to not leave the computer when playing a game?
Or you could turn the speakers up so that you can hear you've joined a game, even if you're away from the computer.
I really don't see why S2 should implement stuff to counter peoples own retardedness
T-up.
I think the gold penalty should be equal to picking a hero straight up. Silly to give a gold bonus for narrowing down you pick to 3 heroes you are all equally good with.
Good contingency for unexpected incidents.
