    HoN on Steam

Would this ever be a possibility down the road?

As much as I think HoN is a great product, I have friends who have passed up great indie games simply because they weren't available on Steam. It's great advertising simply existing in the steam store, and gives access to a huge audience. And the added bonus of updating through Steam automatically. Using Steamworks for matchmaking will probably never happen, but imagine if it did. Unifying my Steam friends and HoN friends for greater community outside of HoN.

    A man can dream...

I'm sure Valve would put HoN on steam despite the fact they're working on DotA 2

This was discussed a lot during beta. S2 chose NOT to place HoN under Steam due to their bad experience with Savage 2. Apparently it's a problem to update the client often via Steam.

So your friends would want to eat a pizza, but because they only eat at McDonalds every time, they will pass it and get hamburgers instead of going to the restaurant near McDonalds, which serves pizza.

You can (or could, rather, dunno if it's still there) buy LoL at Steam, so I don't know why they wouldn't include HoN. They also include other shooters than Counter Strike.

this is clearly something about their EGO, someone at S2 doesn`t like Valve

is other thousands of games and companies can host their games on steam than S2 can do it too
i think they will host it sometime in the futere but then it might be too late

Why would $2 give Steam a cut?

Idk why people like steam so much. I absolutly hate steam. Coming from a FPS backround, EVERY game that i played that involved steam *other then counterstrike* has been made even worst from steam. The client is buggy, most of the time when you update games its horrible, and steam clients for most people crashes during games that werent originally made to run with steam. Not to mention requiring another program to run in your backround slows down your computer if it isnt great. PLEASE even if valve offers it i nhte future do NOT accept it please

It's much more my friends would like pizza, but the pizza shop only accepts Visa, and all they have is Mastercard. They refuse to get a Paypal account, or give out their credit card to anyone but the online giants like Steam, Amazon, and Newegg.

It's not about ego. It's about providing a WORSE service for steam users. From what they said back in beta updating a steam game requires a somewhat slow process. If you want to update your game once a week it's hardly possible. So providing a WORSE service and receiving a LESS money is not ideal.

Some would argue that they would get more costumers this way but I guess they know better after the Savage 2 experience.

Yes, right after the PS3 adaptor comes out for Xbox
