basically...
if dota 2 is all it is hyped up to be, and has an amazing release... hon = F2p
if dota 2 has a horrible release plagued with bugs, tons of missing heroes, shitty pathing, etc, hon will stay and dominate
if valve delivers, this boat will sink
HoN isn't going to be free to play any time soon.
Atleast not before Dota 2's release.
Free to play HoN is actually available for Southeast Asian players:

This actually kind of makes sense.
If you look at breaky's latest interview with Maliken, he states they've been working on an architecture that can handle anything thrown at them, it only makes sense they're designing an architecture to handle the amount of players HoN would have with F2P.
But hey, it's all speculation....
I dont mind HoN going f2p as long as there is a way to keep new account from playing with older accounts. Make it based on games played, like 200 games and u can play MM or something.
Yawn. So what's new? Ofcourse it's gonna go F2P someday. Or do you want to wait for 192 minutes on the matchmaking queue to find a game in 2015.
