I don't think sac stone is that useful for how much gold it costs. I've had all successful games with Amun-Ra(he is op right?) and it's been the same everytime. Bracer -> lifetube -> steamboots/HotBL -> HotBL/steamboots -> magic vests/shamans -> behem heart. After that you're a boss and can buy whatever you want, I just always think of sac stone as being mana regen heavy, and that potential is wasted completely on him unless you're going for the regen gimmick - but then it's not a serious question to begin with.

It's to prevent people from countering you with mana drain. It's also one of the better hp/mana/regen items for the money spent. But mostly it's for the mana pool boost on an item which also gives a significant amount of the things you need.

In my opinion it's situational. Frostfield will give you similar results. Less hp and regen, more armor, and more damage from frostfield. Then there's the whole aoe business, the aura, and it's cheaper.

I also went regen build with him. Didn't end well though since its against my policy to keep striking (not casting) the enemy. Well its a quite versatile hero since he could be build into different role with different item combination

@bigfatty: with his low hp and 2str gain/leve he's not that op. But still could easily gain 300 gpm is kinda loled

Sac stone is a terrible item in general. It's "okay" on a few heroes if they are stomping and get it ridiculously early. Even then they are better off just getting other items. Sac stone IMO needs a major buff before I'll ever even consider buying it on someone.

If and aren't getting it, then no one else in the game should be either, including Ra.


I've only played Ra in lower level games, but symbol quickly became my mod of choice on him. At some point I'll probably go dble mod (symbol/fws) and see how that works (I don't think having 2 mods and switching is really a big deal). I only played 1 game with FWS, and maybe 2 with symbol (another 1-2 games I didn't get past wh) so sample size is small yet.

is empath/amunra decent combo? i know the synergy is great but im thinking if she ults ra he is not an autoattack hero, i guess its just enough with the movement speed bonus
