Give them what they want and let them have their India flag, but make it cost like 600 gold coins. That way they will get what they want, and the others will get a good laugh.
I love like all you pll go make a google search on ddos protection and say it means you can protect against it. No idea how tcp/ip actually works .... no knoweladge of internet networks in general ..... "BUT GOOGLE SAY IT CAN BE PROTECTED AGAINST SO U SUX" logic is just lol .... read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denial-of-service_attack /the whole thing) after that search for
Lets say these kids aren't complete script kiddies and know how to find out the IP address of the actual server hidden behind a proxy (not hard), then what? S2 put up a proxy server for it to be useless in stopping the DDoS attack..? And since they're already attacking the master servers they would probably be able to tell what data centre the boxes are hosted at.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that if they attack the proxy server there will still be downtime because how does one authenticate to the master server if you are connecting through the proxy which is being flooded..? There may be no flood to the master server but how does one connect to the master with no direct host? lmao

Ew, ****ing marry me? I've ALWAYS avoided forums under the preconception that they're filled with idiots as seen before who have no well thought out counter arguments other than. "You're a dumbass". Thanks for being you.
Also, in regards to higher bandwidth servers, wouldn't that in itself be a solution to said problem thus rendering a proxy into a redundancy?
Love all you people stating that you should not have to put up with this and **** like that when the game has been here so long bla bla bla.
Seriously, this is just a game it's online = Online problems. Now please go make a sandwich go back to pc. Problem solved? No? then go watch some anime or something for **** sake.
is it possible to sue the people who ddos'd you if you find out who they are?
i have experience with forums getting DDOS'D it is annoying as hell
but its wierd HoN has sooo many servers who could you possibly get DDoS'd by that's that powerful? its not a bunch of internet trolls it could be something more organized (like another gaming company) which means you could probably sue them under most internet laws...
good luck with it
I have no idea about all this technical IT jargon. Yet, this is still interesting O.o
zzZZZ i see the LoL kids are still DDoSing HoN because noone likes that stupid League of Dements..
Main server may remain "unharmed" but the service will still be interrupted.
If S2 would put proxy servers infront of their servers (which is a really stupid design that no one would ever use) then if a DDOS attack occurs towards the proxy server it would still interrupt the service since everyone use the proxy to access the servers.
There will always be a single point of contact, and thus, failure, when you host a client/server based application on the internet.
It's impossible to avoid beeing DDOS'ed. The attack can be mitigated through various means but it's time consuming. There are new techniques beeing developed that may automate some of this in the future.
As a private user it's a different story. It's very easy to avoid beeing DDOS'ed if you hide your IP-adress from the beginning. Here proxies can help a great deal but it's not relevant now anyways. Proxies won't help anyone in this scenario.
