Or Blizzard somehow acquired exclusive rights to the games, I mean WC3 is pretty dead I would say.. I don't play, nor do I know anything about how games get into the tournament.

good joke, it´s saying that shooters are to complicated for a bigger audiance, you make a kill -> profit, anybody can understand this

but to be honest, most moba games end up in a farmfest (in most cases), which is just boring to watch

ESWC is a shadow of its former self, and as you can see here, most of last year's sponsors (a giant list) have picked up and left as they didn't come close to delivering on the numbers they promised for 2010.

Hon has almost double the players of Counterstrike and Counterstrike Source dayly. So its not as small as u make it.

CS and CSS comp scene > HoN comp scene.
Also CS is more fun to watch.
