Title says it all. Im interested in playing soul reaper but i have no idea how.
I'm sure there are plenty of guides on the forum.
As soulreaper, you generally want to focus on being able to stay alive for as long as possible to heal allies and damage enemies with your heal and aura. So building him tanky is almost always the way to go. Items such as sacrificial stone, behemoths heart and frostwolf skull always does the job great, but depending on the lineup you might want to go for frostfield plate, barrier idol or void talisman
Here's how I play him:
"Cookie Cutter" item build for me is Blood Chalice -> Steamboots -> Power Supply -> Astrolabe -> Nullstone/Sac. Stone (depending on situation) -> Frostfield Plate -> Kuldra.
Swap Kuldra and Frostfield according to needs I guess.
Skillbuildwise I go 1-3-1-3-1-4-1-2-2-2-4-2 then only stats with the exception of lvl 16 for ult lvl 3 obviously.
Hope it helps, I'm far from good though :P
IMO Nome's is a good early mid item on him.
alchy bones, post haste , sotm, sheepstick, harkon, heart á--->faceroll build
even rapes the hardest carries in 1v1 ^^
Blood Chalice --> Enhanced Marchers
Tablet/Stormspirit Core
Frostfield Plate Luxury
Here's a replay of myself using the build. I went 18-12 and I got an annhilation towards the end of the game.

The idea is that you are able to dramatically manipulate teamfights while dealing massive DPS with your aura, heals, your attack, and your ultimate. You should have never have mana problems and once you build Stormspirit, you are able to spam heal as much as you want to keep your teammates at full life.
Note that this is in no way a cookie-cutter or standard build. But it's fun to use and very effective.

It's simple, you stack EHP and stats, i.e. armour.
Ring of the Teacher
Steam Boots
Astrolabe
Nomes
Then you get what you need depending on the game. Some games you need barrier idol, others you can go straight for Sheep Stick or you might even need a Behemoths heart. You just go for survivability plus cc/mana items basically. Just never get Sac Stone or Nullstone, both items are horrible for SR.
Ideally you want a solo lane. Don't level your aura if you are competent at last hitting. Just max Judgement and your passive, obviously ulti level 6 then max aura once you've maxed the other two. With this build, you can push incredibly easily, you barely need any mana regen items. But with Nomes/Astrolabe, one you have great survivability due to the heal from Astro and shield from Nomes but also good stats overall.
Sac Stone/Nullstone/SotM are items to avoid. Majority of other items are fine. Just don't be bad and he's a good hero. Situational pick but nevertheless, good.
PS Most of this advice is garbage, no offense.
PPS Plated Greaves also good. Better for pushing, I just personally prefer Steamboots for the stat changing, and the attack speed is actually quite nice.

Build tanky and mana regen.... get Staff of the master if they got big beefy tanks
Signature.
Let me spell it out plain for you
Angry people complain about the things I do
I'm not changing direction, I'm stepping my game up
Maintaining my name, the same way I came up.
Truth is, I thought it mattered
I thought that music mattered.
But does it? Bollocks!
Not compared to how people matter.
Laning: Ring of The Teacher -> boots -> PSupply -> Mystic Vestments -> Nomes
Boots: Either Steamboots or Plated Greaves (if they got DW, for instance)
Then Astrolabe, and depending whether you up against physical of magical, get Frostfield Plate or Sheepstick/Nullstone

Ring of Sorcery...? Why? With his mana regen passive SR can easily support his mana cost early on with a simple Chalice, and even then it's debateable as he can survive with a RotT (And then Nome's) as well.
I also almost always prefer plated since SR got such a pushing potential and it gives much tankiness from the +armor as well as more mobility than Steamboots.
Seriously on the RoS. 2 armor is less survival than he needs to get for a 1200ish investment. Take the little armor piece and make RotT for near-future upgrade to Nome's.
Plated are so nice, always feel like I'm the only one who likes them, I see boot debates for different heroes and they're not even mentioned half the time, and comp games I watch it seems like someone or other picks up literally EVERY other boot..
Take note - SotM is a SITUATIONAL pickup on SR, not something to rush out every game like so many people I see..

Ring of sorcery is a no no, gives you no survivalbility, which is what you want.
I can dig the plated greaves if they have 5 really heavy physical hitters, but if not I would say always go steamboots so you can
Also, being able to swap the boots for that extra 100 or so mana to be able to ulti/tp/heal is invaluable
To the 2 above me, I meant the other ring. Always mix them up. The one for nomes.
Ring of the Teacher is the ring I wanted :<
Now that makes alot more sense![]()
If you are meeting a hard carry that's quite hard kill for you and your teammate, just get a sotm as fast as possible, at level 16 you will be able to kill anyone below 60%hp I think.
I've seen alot of people actuallyget :BarbedArmor: as of recently and go hero hunting.
It's kinda interesting to watch too. You think you got him down low enough, he just keeps spamming his heal so long as he has mana then boom....ultimate.
Astrolabe and nomes are a must.
While you need to be tanky you also need mana regen. Something nomes is great for.
Alot of people say sac stone is good. But its an inconsitant, expensive and only good if you get it early off. And since your rushing for it youll mostly just feed because how squishy he is. After you get those two items it really depends on the line up. Sheepstick is mostly the best option. It does give you a little bit of health, and alot of mana regen. And the morph :P after that Ill typically go for a heart since youll have the mana regen covered and since its getting later in the game were astrolabe loses it effectiveness you need more then your heal and it.
There are alot of situations were other items are better. But thats something youll learn just from getting better at the game.
