    Wildsoul a competitive pick?

Backstory; skip if you just want the point.
Ok so tonight I played an RD game that was labeled to have a decent PSR and "pros only" (I was invited there, would never go there otherwise)
Our draft pool comes up and we have first pick,
    first pick tempest, alright!
Second pick behemoth! alright, on a roll here
The guy with tempest doesn't know how to jungle that well with him and I can pull a port key in 11 minutes unharassed, prolly close to 14 harassed so I decide I'll trade him, my pick, in the pool are still kraken, pyro, glacius, and a few other good AoE killers. he stalls for 15 seconds, then with 3 seconds left he says "maliken!" of course I'm looking no where near maliken so I get forced randomed into... Wildsoul. Then we procede to get destroyed and the guy who's playing tempest is calling me a scrub because I'm not owning with wildsoul (mind you fifteen minutes into the game he's unharassed and has... 2 fortified bracers and NO port key) My whole team then tells me how AWSOME a hero wildsoul is in the right hands.

Which brings me to my point. Is wildsoul EVER a competitive pick in RD? In my mind he is second to last, last being dark lady (and even then I'd pick her over him in some situations)

I find wildsoul really useful for solo'ing middle. I know the top australian team mcity constantly use him in big international games.

Wildsoul is a bad pick when you already have a Tempest jungling.

Wildsoul now can have Booboo with items from level 1. Thus, you can buy 2 Hatchets on level 1 and rape all the forest without much problem.

Laning is not Wildsoul's specialization these days. Then you rush Mock on the bear if you can, otherwise just get a Brutalizer + Warpcleft on the bear and some survivability on yourself.

So translation, he would be ok if it wasn't for the already jungling tempest?

Wildsoul is a bottom tier pick. No matter what.

    Desirable

    DOGKaiser would beg to disagree

I'd go one further and say the entire Asian DotA scene would beg to disagree.

As someone has mentioned before, MCity and other DotA teams frequently use Wildsoul to jungle. The 6.60 (1.45 in HoN) changes made Wildsoul a legit competitive pick.

Just a question, do items on Booboo drop when he dies?

No unless it is an item that is intended to drop on death >>>> Doom Bringer and Eye.

    I'd disagree as well...

Just as in DOTA, a well played, well farmed Syllabear (wildsoul) will and can dominate. The combined DPS given by Wildsoul and Booboo (even more buff than syllabear) is easily higher than many initial dps heroes. Also, I find his ms and as get ridiculously high, both his bear and himself. (I think his bear maxes MS @ lvl 16 with only boots)

    DotA =/= HoN

The micro system is MUCH BETTER in DotA than it is in HoN, this reason alone is enough to make the difference in Top tier and Bottom.

Saw someone dominate valk mid with bear, he got the runes with booboo and just raped... Like i was on the valks team and seeing booboo with haste tower dive and kill valk easily was pretty sad.

Im sure with Booboo jungling is easy seeing he starts with 800hp lvl 1 and later on in the game with warpcleft and boots he can pretty much finish off any enemies that try to run, and wildsoul can also take alot of dmg in bear form also, so I would think he would be pretty good, but im a n00b.

As has been discussed before in different ways, HoN is not DotA. Heroes that are direct ports of bad heroes are somehow top tier in DotA and contrawise some pro ports are lower tier. Using the logic "because it works in DotA" is not a valid argument so lets stick away from that.

yes a wellfarmed wildsoul is good, but the darklady can also be pretty silly in a pub well farmed, that doesn't make her good on a higher play level.

As for the max aspd, the highest level before concesion on our team was 8 by our jungling tempest (our voodoo jester just got dominated mid)

Having booboo and having a monkey for rune whoring would be almost the same wouldnt they? unless booboo can use the bottle at which point I'd stick the valk where ever the bottle wasn't and harass until they back up.

Hon = Dota. Stop with this bullshit. Out of the 20 most picked heroes in HoN, about 15 of them are direct ports of Dota hereos.

And your 46% win ratio doesn't do much for your credibility either.

Here is a thought for you. Tempest is almost 99.9% banned in competitive games. Legionnaire is quite nerfed in comparison with Axe, he doesn't nearly whirl as much as Axe, since his animations cannot overlap. Zephyr is useless. Thus, if you need a jungler, Wildsoul is perfect for the job.

ha ha I almost responded to your trolling, then I realised I'd be lowering myself to your level and that you are in fact an idiot (partially because you have inaccurate facts). But I'd like to point out very simply, I do play pub games and no I can't play a carry, ergo I will have loses due to bad players. I palyed DotA all of one time, and so obviously picking up HoN I'd just own something fierce for my first 100 games (Internet sarcasm, it's what all the cool kids do)

Good nonresponsive responding. A thumbs up to you sir.

Ah if you had seen what I had written before in 10 minutes of painstaking editing and re-editing you would commend me...

Wildsoul was and will be used to competitive play no matter what others see in public games. IMO wildsoul is much better in HoN compared to Dota. In dota simple disables like frostbite from CM or a Cyclone would disable him longer then usual.
