Don't you just love the references and non-spoken jokes? For example, in Feeling Pinkie Keen, when Twilight's explaining about magic and literally stands on a soap box. Not to mention all the Greek mythology in Sonic Rainboom and Cinderella references in Best Night Ever.
Things like this just made the entire series that much better.

Well that's something we can all agree on.
And whatever makes you think liking ponies makes you less cool sugarcube?
And the references to benny hill, the A-team and alcoholic beverages (appletini), the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, etc.
It really makes the show 20% better, altough there's plenty of other things that the show's got going for itself.
For me the best part is how lovable all the characters are, I really like everypony of the mane six and even the CMC are growing on me after rewatching the episodes. They are all very relatable and all have their funny moments. Ofcourse there's also the artstyle and animation that I really like and it's what got me into the show.

Actually your about 20% cooler.
I finally took the plunge and watched episode 1.
I have to admit I was surprised...the animations were so fluid, and the ponies had so much personality.
