You know I really wished fan fic writers would spend some time on editing. The plethora of grammatical oversights even in the highest rated ones don't leave much room to barter with skeptics.

A friend and I technically stopped writing mlp fanfiction last year (inb4 wut).
The characters had no names until the very end. they had no genders until the very end. We wanted to focus on their Character and actions as a defining factor. We were afraid adding genders/names would spark a need to conform to some social standard on interactions.
Characters were based on things like
Justice (to a fault. like would destroy a planet to bring justice to one criminal, but would /try/ to die for 1 innocent...like an Asari Justicar in Mass Effect).
Honesty
Passion/Bravery (ended up being a lesbian after we applied a female gender and rewrote some sections. It can be dashie)
Comic Relief (OBV PINKIE)
Pursuit of Power (Very much Sylar from heroes except neither good nor bad. Literally self serving without any inherent good or evil intentions)
Pursuit of Knowledge (Power's Twin. same but believed knowledge was true power. Very much a Celestia/Luna correlation as Knowledge is ruler of the Cosmos while Power is on a 1000 year pilgrimage. They swap ruler/traveler every 1k years and are Immortal. Each brings giant leaps to civilization during the switch....when time comes for Power to ascend as ruler.....Knowledge goes missing and Power is thought to be the culprit :3
Potential (Twilight pretty much. Student of Knowledge and later hunts down Power with the help of Yin[secretly Knowledge]. Ironically Power takes on the monicer Yang and they have no clue what each other looks like after 1k years)
God - Just an entity of unfathomable power whom makes random appearances to guide Potential who is really God's last living descendent. God wants to die and give it (looks more like a cloud of energy outside of mysterious robes) powers to Potential. I'm sure Potential learns near the end that no being with Mortal intellect and power should receive this power. It's like having the Deathly Hallows. Does she give them to the Twins?! Does she pull a Goku, gain infinite power/knowledge and leave!? Not sure. We wrote 27 endings and can't stop fighting over it.

I don't have access to the story as I've only worked on it at his apartment QQ. I thought about adapting all the names and actions to fit Ponies. It's roughly 2000 pages not including director notes (we had a friend drawing story boards). <.< Sad that we've been writing on it since high school. Everyone that isn't described (on a big sheet detailing each character) as strictly good or evil can flip/flop roles and does. Twilight at some point aids Justice in demolishing a flourishing planet that becomes the last stronghold of a man that has killed millions with nothing but his will alone (actually he has a DeathNote type mechanism, but thats a spoiler as Potential must later kill Justice to stop her from getting the DeathNote type object AFTER KILLING AN ENTIRE PLANET). good thing Justice is undying (not Immortal or Alive, just undying).
Brb, Calling friend now. Really want to force that universe to be ponyfied. Think of Star Wars, Mass Effect, Age of Empires (for flash backs before the Twins ruled the Cosmos and just a tiny planet), etc, etc, etc.

The mega part of it would be going through it replacing instances of names and functions to ponify it.
It started as a sort of Space Opera action thing with nothing to do with ponies, but quickly we realized using Time as a mechanism and even alternate universes we could really do /any/ thing. Such as sequeing into a mecha anime style story for 40 pages or shifting into a historical period (helps when you can't think of anything futuristic).
He said it's on his external hdd and he'll try to get it to me soon (It would take forever to email on my sand connection).
I'm sure he'll rage at me when i tell him I want to ponify it. I've been trying to convert him to a brony for a while. His complaint is "I won't watch it. I know I'll fall in love with it and it'll take up more of my time than I have to give."
My personal character in the story is two fold. he's a side kick to Twilight (we named the characters after mythological characters from many cultures..idk wtf Twilight WAS named) and a recurring mystery figure with his own agenda (literally doning a cloak to conceal identity). The sidekick part gets his A$$ KICKED alot. The other version /can't/ lose a fight and kills Justice 17 times (he hates Justice, who was his mentor..), sacrifices himself for Twilight (revived by God instead of reincarnating), and he is searching for Power to have the duel of the millinieum, but may in reality is a reincarnation of Power (since Immortality can also mean he never ceases to exist rather than spontaneous regen). The part were he learns of this is crushing to him as his whole life has been to become the best only to find he never had a choice and there was no contender to actually test himself against. His journey....rendered meaningless. In a sense it's a Doctor Who moment since...he has no active recollection of his past and rejects his 'destiny'. This obviously means he destroys half a galaxy in a depressed rage looking for someone to fight until Twilight challenges him (he falls for her and refuses to draw his sword against her). I'm sure I'll just amend it to make my character banished to the moon
----I /really/ need to get the pdf files and read them. I'm thinking of 30 changes throughout the story now :3---

I had my first day on the job today... Spent most of it organizing a giant information dump in excel and cleaning out information I wouldn't need in the future... Half the time I was thinking about how to subtly place a pony picture in my workspace and what pony picture I wanted to use.
I'm looking forward to being able to come to a conclusion. XD

i think i was never in denial phase ..because i enjoyed the parodies..but was like *meh* about the show..watched a few parodies..then epic rainboom(yeah that same vid applejack')..then i was like f it...i like this..going to start watching it..
