A setup like this :AMD Phenom 965 AM3 Quad Core 3.4ghz 6mb CacheMotherboard - M4A78LT-M4gb DDR3 1333Nvidia Geforce GTS450 1gbRun both HoN and DotA 2 ( based of using engine such as Alien Swarm) with decent eye candy? I am looking to replace my 2 year old laptop with such a rig and was just wandering if it would fit the bill properly?

It has enough power, but you might not be able to run both simply because games don't like to share graphics power with other applications.
My second copy of HoN or even Minecraft won't run very well at all, even though I have plenty of computing power for it.
I just recently purchased the 450 GTS 1 GB edition, really cheap and affordable for a student like me.
I usually idle around 37-40 and in-game it will go max to 55 (celsius).
My old card ATi Radeon HD 4870, runs better and is more quiet. Usually idled at 60 degree celsius before (with no dust in-betweeen the fans).
So yeah, A LOT of bang for your bucks!
Not sure why you want to run two games at once though.
GTX 460 768MB costs about the same (bit more) and is twice as much card for your money.

I don't think I explained my question very well. I don't want to run both games at the same time, but rather play them seperately just thinking if the rig will play DotA 2 with decent eye candy and fps. Cause with my current laptop I'm not sure if it would provide some decent eye candy and fps with dota 2 cause it didn't run Alien Swarm very well in terms of graphics.

Thanks for replies guys, bt the store where i can buy pc's from only deal Palit Gtx 46- as their nvidia cards which are in my price range, so im going to settle for Aus Ati Radoen 5670 1Gb with the above specs. Turns out after some research PALIT GTX 460 modules do not have heatsinks on their VRM and their fan fins are really brittle aparently.
Buying online is 99.9% of the time cheaper anyway.
