Thanks for the update. We have 4 R256 drivers posted on NVIDIA.COM. Do all(258.96, 258.69, and 257.21, 257.15) of them work fine?
The most updated driver directly from Asus is version 188.8.131.5241(AKA-> 257.41). Have you try this driver?
Assuming that you are able to launch the game and configuration your game/graphics settings, can you please send me screenshots of the video/game settings you used when the error pops up?
The error message is not very meaningful. Can you look at Windows Event log and see if there are more details available?

Did you see anyone else on forums having this issue with Optimus based system?
If you play the game using factory default setttings in Nvidia Control Panel(Manage 3D Settings) and in the game, can you still reproduce the problem?
In addition, please send me a screenshot of the error message.
We will need additional information to determine the nature of the problem you are experiencing. Can you please send me your system log.
1) Click on the Windows icon on task bar
2) In the Start Search field, type in "msinfo32" and then press the Enter key
3) This will bring up the Microsoft System Information Utility. Click on File and then Export to save this information to your hard drive. You may give it any name you choose.
4) Once the file has been saved on your hard drive, attach it to this support request so that we may review your system configuration.

MY QUESTION IS NOW: Do we know exactly what cards that have this issue so I can help Nvidia help us?
