If you're just talking about Harass-Ability, Slither is #1, Hellbringer close 2nd.
However, both are generally too item dependant to run hardsitter roles and are better off solo themselves.
are all at around the same babysitting level. Choose whoever benefits your lineup the best.

I'm almost 100% sure I'm feeding a troll here but lets make sure everyone else is on the same page: NEITHER NEED FARM. Both of them make excellent babysitters because they don't need any items.

Hellbringer's core costs 500(RoT)+500(Marchers)+540(PSupply)+510(Bracer) = 2050 gold after that you can get a barbed armor(2200) and you're done for the remainder of the match; you got everything you need to stay relevant. Most other heroes pay that for just 1 item. And if your team is winning you're getting bags of gold that you won't even be able to spend.

Slither is a similar story, plated greaves, powersupply and nome's wisdom and you're basically done. Yes you can get additional items like spellshards, sotm, geometers, etc but you don't need too.

Depends on who you are laning with really. If you have a laning partner with kill potential, say a it will ofcourse benefit to have a stun or disable and decent attack-range...

And as said above, whatever benefits the line-up.

In this world gone mad, we won't spank the EM players, the EM players will spank us.

slither is best harasser, by far.

Dsham is awesome, especially since he makes good use of an early ring of the teacher (built later into nomes). After that, voodoo is probably a close second.

Plague can be nice, but babysitting nerfs him a bit since he is pretty scary with a solo level advantage. Also, if you are against an aggressive lane with nice stuns and/or nukes, they might be able to ignore you and just rape your baby since he has no real stun or heal.

If you want to babysit a ranged carry or semi-carry, like maybe corrupted or FA, you might consider accursed (or even jereziah). They take care of harassment while you heal and shield them to negate counter harassment.

It's goes even further, if the competitive players aren't using those heroes to babysit, they are simply retarded.

I don't get why people aren't considering nymph as a good baby sitter, especially in a lane with madman for example who can keep up a constant spam of his abilities due to nymphs mana regen

Well, her heal got nerfed, but before that and now for the most part as well, she makes better use as a ganker. Zeal+Heal+few autoattacks is sure to kill nearly anyone. It's the relatively new pebbles combo.

    Definately Slither and Hellbringer
The first one for obvious reasons
The second for his awesome attack animation, death boil and free double tap he gives to his carry at lvl 6

Slither, Hellbringer, Demented Shaman and Voodoo Jester.

    dodging stuns since March 2010

Hellbringer is a much better babysitter than slither. The problem is Slither's attack range, if I'm against a slither with a 600 range hero, I can bait out his auto attacks, force him to push the lane trying to hit me, and take shots at him when he wont be able to hit back. In a 1v1 situation Slither wins, but trying to fight for farm for the carry, Hellbringer is better.

My personal favorite babysitter is Demented Shaman, but Voodoo and Hellbringer are better harassers. When Empath first came out she was imba as **** for a while with her Lifelink harass.
