Isn't devourer's hook supposed to silence in that if you hook someone, and que his ult, you should get his ult off on them? in the match id listed below I hooked swift blade twice, and even though I qued his ult, swiftblade was still able to cast spin as he got to me, negating the damage. Is this supposed to happen? it seems fairly broken if this is the case. He does not spin until after he reaches me and I ult him. i guess maybe I wasn't queing up properly. another question from this match is, how long does it wait to give someone a kill? 11:58 slithers final dot ticked off of me, I was then waiting to see if I could sit around and get a kill( i know this is dumb) and like an idiot, neutrals came out and attacked me at 12:14. they hit me twice and I die almost 20 seconds after slithers dot ticked last, and yet slither got a kill for that.
tmm match #473016
secondly, another dev question, this one involving magebane, I can't find the match ID so it may not be worth noting, but a magebane blinks in, and I ult him, but it does no dmg and instantly stops, is magebane's disjoint on blink, supposed to work after he has blinked already?
Devourer's ult has a cast time. Swift's spin does not. Hook does not silence. Magebane's blink does disjoint. You probably cancelled your ult or got silenced. I am also confused about kill credit.
I believe kill/assist credit lasts for up to 20 seconds after the last damage dealt to you from a player.
The Game. You just lost it.
so saying that devourers hook does not silence is plain wrong. the moment the target gets hit it is silenced for 0.1 seconds and after that it is silenced for the whole duration of the pull.Code:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <state name="State_Devourer_Ability1" icon="icon.tga" stunned="true" immobilized="true" effecttype="" > </state>
Magebanes blink disjoint most skills, there are some that are hard to disjoint but devo ulti is a semi melee skill. You can think of it as a panda ultimate where he have a short channeling time before the target get stunned by your skill, however if that person use a skill to prevent you from finishing the animation before the stun happen your ultimate will go on cooldown. This have happen way too many times when I play panda against valk where she leap after I click on her with my ulti and it get canceled right after.. Bubbles take cover can also do the same thing as valks leap but its much harder to time.
Go into practice mode... spawn and on one team. Spawn and and a few stunners on the other. Turn on 's ult... stun . You notice that her ult is not interrupted by the stun. Silence her with . Her ult will stop pulsing. Do the same with 's cloud. Do the same with a :Hellflower:. The silences all disable her ult. Apply an aoe stun to . He will not come out of invisibility. Now do 's aoe silence on ... he will become visible. Hook when he is ulting. The ult will not be disrupted. Hook an invisible . He will not become visible.
Hopefully you can draw the correct conclusions from these observations.
And from now on... do not speak out of ignorance unless you enjoy playing the part of the fool.

this topic isn't about night hound's ulti or torturer's ulti. in the context of this topic it is fully o.k. to say that hook silences trough the stun, as 'stunned' is basically 'silenced', 'immobilized', 'perplexed' and 'disarmed' together. i know that a stun is not a 'real' silence, but it stops you from using spells, and that's what the OP was asking for in his first sentence.
i could pull apart your posts now too and jump in on your quibbler-game, but i'd see this as further uncalled for disruption of the discussion in this topic.
Stunned isn't a silence or anything like that, it simply stops your hero from preforming any actions for the duration. You can actually queue skills up while you are stunned, which you can't do while you are silenced.
