New heroes: soul reaper and plague rider

I just saw the two new heroes and couldn't wait to try them in a practice game. They're pretty cool but I noticed some things.

For plague rider: his abilities are cool and his model is awesome. Though he is really slow even with boots, his first skill is strong in the beginning, but gets kinda weak at the end. For his ultimate: it's very strong, but again it seems as if you can just outrun the projectile if its in a 1v1 and you're fleeing.

The soul reaper: his first ability could use some more graphical effects IMO. And his ultimate seems to be pretty weak. 0.4 multiplied by the amount of health missing? This seems wrong.

Just some things I noticed in a practice game! So it might be totally wrong.

Share your opinions about these new heroes, perhaps you have played them in a real game already.

Plague Rider is an early game hero, so its no surprise that his skills lose effectiveness during mid and lategame. His Ult is strongest in team clashes and only idiots will use it in 1vs1 fights.

Another point is, that this game isnt balanced on 1vs1 fights, so stop making them a topic to debate about!

Soul Reapers Ulti is strong and very effective against Tanks especially in late game. So its good as it is.

All your points would have been answered by yourself if you ever wouldve played dota...

Pretty sure it isn't a requirement to play HoN that people had to play DOTA and as a support staff you should really know that and not down new players.

to be honest I have played dota a couple of times and I am mainly a warcraft 3 tft player. I might have played it 10 times in my whole life but in those times I did play the lich. 1v1's are going to happen, always. I'm pretty sure a warbeast, magebane, madman and a lot of other heroes can just outrun this ultimate.

And I had no idea who this soul reaper was in dota, and I was just saying that I had a feeling that his ultimate was a bit weak and only good for killstealing. This was just a first impression by me.

And I'm not making 1v1's a topic to debate about, I just mentioned it and sort of asked if this is normal.

Both heroes are direct ports from dota, so if you have any feeling that the heroes are not good then that just means you are unfamiliar with them.

Plague rider's ultimate is for battles against multiple heroes so that it can bounce between them and wreak havoc. Against one hero it is just a decent damage nuke with a chance to bounce back off a creep into them. He doesn't really lose effectiveness that much late game because his ult does so much damage in team battles and is upgraded by scepter of the master, and his armor spell is useful all game.

Soul reaper's ult is similar to pyromancer's in that it is a large single target nuke. But it is a little worse early game but scales great for late game. Early game .4 damage per missing health will kill someone that is at about 23% health, which at that low level will be something around 250 damage (after magic armor) assuming they have about 1000 hp. Not a whole lot, but it stuns as well. Late game, however, it does .9 dmg per missing hp from the enemy. That means it can completely finish off a hero that is at 40% health including normal magic resist no matter what their max health is. And of course with scepter it deals 1.1 dmg and kills someone that is at 47% health. Now its not the best ultimate by any means, but if you build for longevity your aura can get some scaled damage in and you can single out their tank and ruin his world.

    DOTA DOTA DOTA DOTA DOTA

Back on topic, Soulreaper is a lot stronger than you think--especially with a Staff of the Master, at which point he can instagib any opponent at 50% health, no matter how long the game goes on.

with scepter it does 1.2 dmg

Plague rider is really an early game hero. Usually, you'll lane him with someone who has a bad early game and use his deny spell to kill a creep on every wave, while also creep pulling to keep the wave near your tower. Deny skill+his nuke lets him shoot out limitless harass to keep enemy heroes away from your lategamer, and his armor is very strong throughout the game against a melee carry. he's very good as a babysitter, but you can also send him solo mid to shut down a scary enemy solo mid. He has unlimited mana from the ability to deny away from the creepwave and will usually get 1-2 levels on just about any hero simply on this alone. Again, he can shoot out nukes as much as he wants so few people can outlane him. Ideally, sending him middle will cripple any lategame solo mids like Soulstealer.

Soul Reaper is more like defiler, he's solid throughout the game. His mana from kills skill keeps his aoe fueled so he can spam it constantly. His aura is solid in a teamfight, 1% a second (not sure if its identical to dota, haven't played this one yet) adds up very fast. His ult is primarly used to counter high HP heroes, but if an enemy goes under 40% you can instakill them with it to prevent any escape.

Well did anyone notice Withering presence gives "symnbolic Rage effect 150% Life steal" in addition to the damage dealt?
Just start a practice game, lvl this skill and while standing near an enemy creep, click on it - you can see the debuff on the right. If you hover over it - you see the creep got 150% life steal xD
Seems like a bug to me but im not sure

Does the life steal really works or is it just a picture since I've used him in pub game and practice games and I didn't see the creeps just healing
