Heroes of Newerth Art of the Week
Rules and guidelines:
1) HoNAotW Threads:
At every Monday there will be a post called Discussion: HoNAotW #X were players can post their opinions about the week's theme.
All themes must involve HoN content (Heroes, Items, Abilities, Situations, Enviroment, etc)
2) Entries:
There will be only one entry per player.
Entries can involve the following art:
- Concept art (Artwork creation)
- Image manipulation (From a stock image)
- Signatures (Size limit: ???x???)
- Icons (Items or Abilities)
Entries will have place at every Monday and it will end on every Friday.
This will give artist some time to create their entries.
All entries must be new and will have to follow the week's theme.
Entries will be PMed to the HoNAotW moderators (to be determined).
3) Voting:
At every Friday there will be a post called Voting: HoNAotW #X were players can vote other people's entries.
Players can't vote their own entries.
Voting will have place between Friday and Sunday of each week with the following method:
Each player emites 3 votes with the following values:
- 1ST vote: 6 Points
- 2ND vote: 4 Points
- 3RD vote: 2 Points
Alternative voting method:
Every player will rate all arts with a value from 1 to 5 points.
4) Rewards:
At the end of the voting phase on Sunday, the 3 arts with most points will have their rewards given:
- 1st Place: 200 Gold Coins
- 2nd Place: 75 Gold Coins and 75 Silver Coins
- 3rd Place: 100 Silver Coins
Alternative Rewards:
1ST: 200 Silver Coins
2ND: 150 Silver Coins
3RD: 100 Silver Coins
5) Notes:
* Rewards can be balanced, this is just the concept. Altough playing MM for an entire week can give you from 150 to 300 silver coins, depending on how many games per day you play. So this contest promotes both coin collection (for those who can't spend a whole week playing) and fan media art in one single contest.
* There will be some S2Staff authorization needed for the rewards of this contest.

I like the idea, I'll see what I can do about this. I think the persons to contact are Chavo or Nigma.

At first I was likeThan I realised it was a suggestion and was like D:
+1 approve anyhow.
wow ok, im probably going to get that sketchbook pro thing but ive been looking at tablets pen/graphics/digitalizer w/e and i have no idea what to buy- seems Wacom make the most expensive and better ones, which is my point, my dad has a pen tablet and ive used it before but dont think it will be up for the job (drawing concept art that is) and so was wondering if there was a good tablet out there under £100, any help is extremely appreciated
many thanks again
Dark
Hello friend, Wacom is one of the best around when it comes to digital tablets. A Wacom Medium runs you about 300$.
They have some new ones from bamboo, i dont know much about them but they are closer to your price range.

I am very interested. At first, I though this was already implemented but then I realised this subforum was for sigs.
Regarding tablets, big is not necessarily bigger. A good size is 6"x8" which is the one I use. Huge tablets will only cause you more strain.
So whats going on with this idea now? There has been no mod or official response since march. Have any staff been contacted regarding prize support? Responses?

This sounds like a good idea. Not that I can do art, but it would bring some more good art here for sure, for viewer pleasure, and even more for the makers.
