Hey all, I was just wondering the longer you're in the que do you get a higher priority for a game than someone that's just joined the que?
Or is it all sorted with MMR's etc
Yes, your group gets higher priority to be placed into a match the longer the group has been queued.
I commonly see people suggest that re-queuing will help, but I can assure you it doesn't. If it appears to work it is only a coincidence. The system doesn't 'forget' you and is constantly combining groups and trying different methods to find a match for you. Ultimately it is dependent on the other groups, how long they have been waiting, along with their MMR/map/region/game type/game mode selections so there's a high level of variability there which is why it is sometimes sporadic.
but longer queue = higher chance of unbalanced game, or different team size, right?
Still seeing 1500s locked with 1750s in the same game. This would never happen in normal games but it's often in MM.
My goal is for at least one of my heroes to be ported into HoN! Help my cause and get S2 to see these!

I have a related question. Does the system wait a set time before it starts lookiing in different group sizes to form a match?
Say me and one other person and I queued for 3v3, and a similarly rated team of 3 is in the queue. A third solo person joins the queue. Will it match these people up right away, or will it hold out for a certain amount of time to see if either another group of 3 or 3 more singles show up?
Also, if the players in the queue aren't closely rated, how long does it take before the system begins to expand the search? is there a limit on how far up and down the ratings it will go to form a game?
(The above poster is right in that the closer your rating is to 1500, the faster matches will start- this is true whether you're above or below 1500)
I leave queue after 1min otherwise I end up with 3-4 friends who are terrible.
Re-queueing is worth doing if you are solo MM as it stops the matchmaker from finding a more imbalanced group to slot you into.
only re-queue if you are playing solo...this way you wont get matched with 4 or 5 mans
it usually finds me a group in ~10 seconds. if it takes longer than 30 sec i requeue and i always get immediately into a game afterwards
I never do. It is pure luck and coincedence.
Of course if you repeatedly cancel you will find a game in "10 seconds-" That's because you're refusing to wait longer than that per queue attempt. Fact ise your actual wait time is no different and might even be longer.
Of course, why wouldn't you. They balance each other out. I feel you're the kind of person that was arranging teams in pub games, kicking high PSRs getting balanced on the other side and making sure the opponent's KDR were ****. It's a good thing you can't do that in Match Making.
