    Phil the Thrill Presents: My Top 10 HoN Matches

    Hey guys,

    I hope you enjoy this little feature Honcast will be bringing in the future. My Top 10 is the first to be featured, so I figured I'd post it here for you all.

    So without further adieu...

    Phil "The Thrill" Presents: The Top 10 Matches in HoN History

    10. tSm vs LOAD - Gamereplays Invitational Round 1

    -Reason- During the early days of HoN tSm and LOAD constantly had close matches against one another with LOAD always coming out on top. During the invitational of Gamereplays Season 1 (which remains to this day my favorite tournament of all time) tSm found themselves pitted against LOAD once more. Enjoy one of the first epic games I ever witnessed, as well as casted!

    9. KDe vs tXl - Dreamhack Summer 2010 - Semi-Finals : Game 2

    -Reason- H4nni found himself unable to arrive at Dreamhack in time for the semifinals, meanwhile tXl (under the name Danish Dynamite) made their way into the match up with a full 5. This series spans 3 games but game 2 holds a special place in my heart as it was not only a great turnaround game, but also the first time I casted with TobiWan.

    8. WHP vs 5 - x6/HoN League Sidewinder Tournament - Finals Game 3

    -Reason- During the hayday of WHP vs 5 matches, all too often did the hero pick of Puppet Master be the deciding factor. This game was no different with great plays by all involved, in one of the first huge tournaments in HoN's short history.

    7. 4DR vs 5 - ESL January Finals

    -Reason- Scout vs 5 when 5 was considered widely to be the #2 and in contention for #1 in the world. Great plays abound and when Scout kills a courier, things get a little hairy. Se`Busca on 5 and the Scout Supreme HighwayStar are featured in this great matchup.

    6. LOAD vs phB - TWL Standard Match

    -Reason- phB comes up new on the scene with Phe`V rocking the carry. This game became an immediate success with both fans and competitive players alike, as Night Hound for the first time showed his ability to dominate the early game. Watch as the #1 team in the world faces an extremely aggressive Russian team in the first round of TWL.

    5. DM vs Empr - Gamereplays Invitational - Semi-Finals : Game 2

    -Reason- DM is well known for running odd strategies from time to time, and though we'd seen push strats before this stood out above them all. Enjoy a match where patience is tested and questionable item pickups make a sure fire victory turns sour.

    4. MSI vs DrDz - Dreamhack Summer 2010 - Semi-Finals : Game 2

    -Reason- Trixi is well known to be one of the greatest carry players in the game, upon selection of Forsaken Archer he begins to amass incredible amounts of gold. Before the debates of Buybacks made their way to the forums and competitive enthusiasts, Trixi shows exactly how gamechanging clutch buybacks can be.

    3. SK vs EG - GosuGamers Losers Bracket - Finals : Game 2

    -Reason- GosuGamers World Cup proved to be the longest and most illustrious tournament in HoN's history thus far. EG and SK two North American powerhouses square off at 12:30AM EST in a late night showdown that had Honcast and 10,000+ viewers glued to the monitors until almost 330AM. Enjoy one of the most amazing and epic matches ever seen.

    2. DWi vs DM - GosuGamers Losers Bracket - Semi-Finals : Game 2

    -Reason- Another amazing game from the GosuGamers Losers Bracket. DWi and DM are both well known aggressive teams and this match goes from a steady stream to an all out beatdown from both sides. There are few games that end up being so memorable, and of them, this one is no exception.

    1. TSoG vs SdS - ESL November

    -Reason- ESL isn't covered enough, and I blame Breaky for that, but there's no denying this game will forever be etched into the minds of those who saw it. Watch as the game progresses and a team gets the compete upperhand, that is, until someone makes an incredibly risky choice and makes a run for the money.

    Really nice, both for reviews for those of us that have been following the stream for a long time and for new followers that deserve to see these awesome games Next one should IMO be funniest funcast top 5 or 10

    cant really agree on #5 tbh, if you consider lolstrats , lion vs fire was far more lulzy (5x helmet of the black legion strat)

    rest was n1, some good oldschool games!

    Never heard of FIRE. The list is of games we casted over at Honcast that stand out as memorable. And while I'm sure the game was "lulzy" the point of the list was to look at games that changed some aspect of how HoN was viewed. DM vs Empr is a game I'll never forget because had they made correct items choices, I think victory was assured. Thanks for the opinion though.
