Hey guys...
Would like some advice on this one.. I am by no means a top player by any standards.. I can daresay though that I'm an above average player and you won't see doing terrible on a game except on a few instances where I really can't do anything against a team of 1800s.
I share this account with my brother, who already quit playing HoN. I managed to catch up with the Kills and Death which was formerly a -200 plus. I hover around the mid 1600s to high 1500s but recently had a string of bad luck with team mates.
I can use almost all hero save for Ophelia who I still can't micro that well enough. I do decent with Syllabear. Anyone who plays with me regularly knows that I random most of the time but resort to picking a nice support hero during serious matches.
I saw and played with pros who managed to carry a team by their lonesome. A winning attitude is contagious definitely and I see them early early-mid game to rally their team to victory. I'm wondering what tips you could give me inorder to carry a bad team.
My recent experience was I randomed Riki. My team then went Pyro, Polly, and Jeraziah. The last picker was crucial and he ended up playing... you guessed it... Scout... That irritated me to death and the opposing team just bought Bound Eye, no problem.
Sometimes I would play with mid 1500s and they end up really sucking too.. Nothing much I can do but to help them whenever they get ganked for the nth time and end up dying too...
Tips please?
It's difficult, especially if the other team is good. If the teams are relatively-balanced, then it should be a fairly easy task

Look for my highlighted text (important information) and grey text (interesting but not required information).
Start playing semi-carries, call solo mid, dominate your opponent in lane, then go ganking and save the other lanes. Probably the best way to directly influence the outcome of a game.
Actually this is a good tip, and I'm molding my playstyle to be like this. I'm good at farming, solo or with laning as my starting items are geared towards last hitting. Maybe I need to gank and roam more but I'm squeezing every chance I get to level up... Usually I end up 2 levels above the highest level on the other team even if we are losing massively.
Just don't take pure ganking oriented heroes (like pharaoh, succubus or arachna). It's quite vital you can make a big difference in a push as well.
YOu cannot carry a bad team is the other team is good.
I ppersonally play with 3 friends, all are awesome players. But we need to allow a pug in, whenever the other team is decent, an horrible player on our side is just enough destroys us.
I'm speaking of a chronos with lvl 1 time leap and lvl 4 backtrack.
That is making a headress.
my suggestion would be
1. play solo mid, gank often. mid is the most important lane.
2. play gankers (bh/swift/pest) and gank often. get kills, dont die.
3. try to lead your team vocally (or by typing if u dont have a mic). just taking the lead can very often win your team the game, even if you yourself arent doing amazing.
It really depends on how bad your team is.
Sometimes individual players can be bad but they can still have the ability to listen to instructions. If that is the case, take command of the team and lead them to victory by coordinating in gank attempts and team battles.
If they are utterly retarded however, then there may not be much you can do. You may be able to gank loners, but games are not decided by 1v1 battles so you'll probably still lose.
Practice with top tier heroes. So become good with Tempest, Legion, Defiler, Jeraziah, Magmus, Arachna, thunder bringer, succubus, pesti, and madman. Hosts more games so you get fp or second pick, and try to solo mid with a hero that is able to ie defiler, arachna tb, succubus, and try to really **** up the guy in your lane. If you dunno how to jungle w/ tempest and legion i suggest u learn or if you dunno how to use dagger on magmus (epi + blink) you need to learn that as well. In summary try practicing more w/ top tier heroes, and know what you need to do and items you need to get (cut out an optium build order for success). If you can abuse them they will pay off in wins.

Oh hey venomking I played you yesterday If you remember I remember that Chronos, I play by the name BodoFraggins and im in LC not sure if that rings a bell.
To the OP, its very hard to carry a team of losers a semi carry might be your best bet but the only real solution is to stop playing with bad people, join a clan or make friends. You are more than welcome to join LC, nice crew.
In the long run playing with bads will only make you rage, theres no saving a team of people that simply will not listen. I was playing with a glacius that refused to ward because "his hero cant farm well" so "he needed the money". These people are not worth your time.
stay away from support heros.
pick chronos*
farm ~15 minute wingbow
???
profit
* substitute with any hard or semi carry as long as you can punch *******s in and stay alive
Convince them to pick easy heroes like Electrician while you carry.
If I know my team is retarded or bad, I usually pick a strong carry, and ... well carry them.
well you can let your teammates initiate, first, then jump in and kill the other team, if everything goes according to plan, both teams will die except you, and you can proceed to take down their rax. However if people don't show up to teamfights, almost always why your team is failing, then there's not point, just concede.
