they implemented it in dota, just watch one honcast game, you'll see how saving for mass buybacks makes this game stupid.

Imo buyout timer is a little harsh esp when some teams have shitloads of gold, maybe drastically increasing the cost for each consecutive buyout?

Last time I checked a big part of hon is accumulating gold and making investments.

Imagine being dead, knowing you can buyback and win the game, knowing you earned all that shitton of gold but just have to sit on it and wait to lose.

So... HoN is like real estate?
    Sounds interesting.

Imagine being dead... with 6k knowing, maybe I should've spent that gold on something...
So you sit on your metric shitton on gold and lose the game... and you should.. Scrooge McDuck

Maybe if you spent the money you saved up for 3 consecutive buybacks on something that would stop you from getting killed in the first place you....wouldn't be dead....and winning the game.....

Make it so that you can buyback -> 10 minute cooldown OR after dying and respawning. This means that when you die you can buyback, if you die again (within 10 mins) you can't buyback in that death.

10 minute could also be more or less though.

    Supported.
Ward sells... but who's buying it.

I've wanted this for a long time, while I like the fact that Icefrog addressed it in DotA, I dislike the fact that the timer is so long that if you're maxed, your money just stockpiles while you can't do anything with it. Rather make them much more expensive, something like add +20% of the buyback cost to the next buyback. For example, first buyback 2000, second buyback 2400, third buyback 2880, fourth buyback 4032 and so forth.

This is probably the best middle ground between buybacks and a timer.

I agree with increasing the cost for each consecutive buyback.

    Limiting buybacks? No.
    Cooldown on buybacks? Possibly.

I just watched empr vs dwi and tarano saved up 20.000 gold.

he didn't spend it for 4 DB's therefor i think buyback should be removed

This was what should have been changed in the "competitive patch". S2 failing to see (or address) the OBVIOUS problem related to buybacks in competitive games, is just sad.

Especially because buybacks really got out of hand with S2's brilliant idea of support gold. S2 predicted that the teams would buy Doombringers for all the extra cash and the games would be shorter, but instead all the teams saved up for buybacks and it made the games even longer -.-

I support almost any nerf to buybacks.
