    Magebane's Mana Combustion + Shieldbreaker?

    +:Shieldbreaker:?

Hi, I've been playing Magebane for some time and I've messed around with a bounce of diffrent itembuilds, Runedaxe, Geobane, Frostburn, Basher, Savagemace, ShrunkenHead, Demonic and so on.

But my question is what do you guys think of Shieldbreaker and Magebane's Mana combustion. For you who don't know:

    Mana Combustion
    On Attack

    Takes
16 / 32 / 48 / 64 of the targets Mana and deals Physical damage equal to 60% of the Mana taken.

    ( 60% of 64 = 38,4 physical damage )

    Shieldbreaker

    +
    60 Damage
    -
    6 Armor

So what I was thinking was, Shieldbreaker would be a especially good pick up on Magebane since lowering the targets armor would result in both your normal autoattack damage and the damage from the manaburn to scale.

After that you could go something like geobane and both you and your illusions will get the scaling aswell, resulting in Sheildbreker will boost your damage I 6 places, 3x autodamage, 3x manaburn.

What do you guys think of this? (I know shieldbreaker is in recommended so it's nothing new)

The problem with ShieldBreaker is that it ONLY gives damage :/
You won't have any survivability if you go that way, especially since it's not so cheap. But I guess if you want to increase your damage output and don't encounter a whole deal of disables, you could go for it.

Yeah forgot to mention that, Im talking - armor in general with magebane feels like a good thing, since the manaburn is physical.

Illusions won't gain the direct +60 damage from Shieldbreaker, just saying

@[S2]ElementUser, No ofc. I was referring to the Broken armor debuff and the manaburn.

The problem with the idea of ever using Geo's on magebane, is you basically need a BKB (or equally good survivability items) because using geo's removes flash armor, and getting close to your target to use illusions requires the use of your blink.

I think this is one of those cases where it sounds good in theory but just would never turn out to be practical in a game. If the other team is getting rolled so hard that you can farm full items you likely would be fine with other standard builds. If they aren't getting rolled, you will end up with just shieldbreaker and maybe geos in a relevant time frame and they will just explode you. The buildup for shield breaker is pretty awful early game too, providing only +damage (and large component costs) which honestly is not all that useful to a magebane at that point (as his uptime on targets is minimal at best).

Thx for the more serious answer^^

I agree that the buildup of Shieldbreaker is really bad, and you need some survival item for sure. But you usually get some kind of dmg item, if you don't count your runedaxe. stuff like savage or frostburn to boost your damage output, so my question is more directed to "wouldn't shieldbreaker be a good damage output item for MB since the Mana combustion is physical" maby I should have made that more clear in the thread :/

(I havn't tought of geobane removing flasharmor, it's obvious but I've never tought of it, thx man I will think of that if I use geobane)
