Hm, well I'm just playing a game with pebbles (I'm typing this when dead). I had a buckler and trees as my first item, with the plan to buy a fast bottle, followed by striders and PK for core. I went mid vs an FA who grabbed an illusion rune at the top (our team had 3 bot rune, they had 3 top rune). I couldn't really touch the creep as he could harass me so much and last hit with ease. This meant I was hugely behind in my farm/levels, and he's pretty much dominating the game now (was like 8-0 with a geobane at 19 minutes in). I just felt pretty useless. What could I have done differently? Need advice, I hate losing
Not die..... im serious, you already lost the exp so it can only get worse by dying, also try to stun her with her illusions, at lvl 1 it should take them to 1 hit from dead at lvl 3 they die instantly, its not that hard you just ned to have experience with pebs, if he gets dd then thats pretty much 2 free ck waves, you can still win the lane if your good with pebs, also
If ur not 2 experienced with pebs or ur going against heavy harrass .. like fa get 1 hp, 1 runes, 3 minor totems and 1 shield.
You need 2 minor totems to pull of ur lvl 2 combo, the third one is just for a little bit of more stats, can help u lasthit
If ur already pro with pebs or going vs little harrass or magic harrass like tb skip the shield, i prefer shield to no shield but it works sometimes
Fa having illu doesnt lose you the lane, you not knowing how to counter lost u the lane, just stun her if she has illus, if she has dd if shes close to the ck and 1 or 2 of her creeps are low stun her, move forward deny 1 of ur ck if shes far u might be lucky with a deny or 2 so she will move closer :P
Throw your stun at the illusions, viola.
Doesn't change that FA is hard to go against as a melee though.
Cry alot =(
Your in deep ****.

yeah there's nothing you can do, especially as pebbles with 0 armor vs a 600 range hero
I would just stay in xp range and do minimal csing for the first 2 waves

dude has been trolling since they changed kraken's ult
(no hate just surprised)
One or two waves won't make you lose the lane (or even destroy you, like in your example).
Especially as Pebbles.
Play defensive until rune runs out. Try to soak some exp if the enemy isn't playing superaggressive (aka bad).
Just chill until the illusions go away. Then continue to out-CS her with superior damage, win the rune races because you're awesome, and gank them because she can't.
The only situation where a 0:00 illusion/dd will COMPLETELY screw you is against an SS, where half your ability to rape him in lane comes from the fact that you can out-cs the hell out of him.
it shouldn't even matter that much though, pebbles should be able to beat most mids (including fa and ss) with good rune control as long as he can manage to get to level 5 reasonably fast, then it's just imba combo damage burst from there.
worst comes to worst, go stack some neutral camps and combo them down for easy farm, then go rape the game as usual with pkey
This might require more organization than you can expect from a pub, but with a plan to solo Pebbles mid I would try to set up a bloodlust gank before the rune even spawns. The basic idea would be to sprint down the long lane the second the game starts, abuse tree fog (hiding inside a neutral camp works well), and then jump their "rune ramp" from behind 5-10 seconds before the rune pops. Stalagmites has good cast range and does exceptional damage for a level 1 nuke, so Pebbles is a great candidate for this kind of play.
If your team takes bloodlust, the gold/xp advantage you would have should be enough to overcome potential bad luck with the starting rune.
