    How to play more competively

I've been playing lots of pubs lately, but been wondering where you can play better players. I figured joining a clan, but I don't know where to start, since I won't join a random clan when someone asks it.

I'm not saying i'm pro or something, just finding a way to improve faster by playing better opponents rather than playing pubs.

    go on IRC
    find HoN channels
    Ask for scrims with clans

You'll need a clan for this though. If you don't have any friends in game, then you'll just have to ask other clans if you can try out.

There isn't really much of a competitive scene for HoN considering IT'S IN BETA

Just host 1700+ PSR games. The competition is usually pretty nice in there. If your PSR isn't that high yet, play more.

Getting up PSR in pubs isn't always that easy unless you have several friends who are also decent and has the beta.

true if you keep bumping in leavers all the time :/
or ppl who first play the game and dont know what to do,
or HOW TO PLAY, really some times it amazes me how ppl dont know how to play.

was looking for a clan but its not that easy

I'm in a completely opposite situation.

It's amazing how people won't tolerate noobs in noob-only games!

I have lots of friends with keys, I play a lot with them, and I'm really pro... from their perspective only. The result is that I have 1600+ PSR and I'm the leader of a clan (composed by these friends), but in fact I'm a newbie.

I can't join newbie games ('cause PSR and clan) and can't play better games ('cause I still suck at this).

The solution, up to now, is to host my games and have to explain that all the time to who join it that the 1600 is an illusion, etc.

    How to mispell "competitively"

dandrea: Just lose some games in higher level games. THEN YOUR PSR WILL REFLECT YOUR SKILL LEVEL. CRAAAAAAAAZY.

I don't mind loosing some higher level games. I mind being kicked from them.

It's ridiculous to see some dota vets creating NOOBS ONLY games and kicking anyone that doesn't know how to play. And, crazy, i know some basics like denying, ganking and else, so...

Anyway, sorry for the disruption in the thread.

Play a lot, = get that better. Eventually u will find a good team, or if u feel like some ppl do an awsome teamwork in a game ask em to play again.

If your psr is too high, host a private game by yourself and concede (not practice mode)

I'm in the same situation, however I solve it by joining normal games when my PSR is higher, yet when I get a few unlucky teams and drop down below 1500 or so play in noobs only to get it back up

1600 isn't a high PSR at all... just host 1500+ games, you'll be sure to play against people with your skill level if you do that.
