As the title says, I am wondering if it is better to go for portal key or spellshards first in a match. Thank you for any non-troll input!
I generally shoot for a Portal key first since most of Pyro's spells do enough early/mid game damage. Plus.. Port + Stun + Ult = Free kill for carry (or you).
With friends like you, there's no need for enemies. With friends like you, there's no need for anything.
Portal key is much better as a general rule as you can blink onto somebody landing easy stun + nuke + ultimate and KO them. (Memorise or write down the damage after magic damage, so you know exactly how much it will deal and intiate when you can gib them).
If your stomping you can consolidate this by getting Spellshards as the longer you keep them down the better. That being said, if your not stomping them, it doesnt give any HP or anything that useful, so its not a great pickup straight up.
Portal Key.
Being able to land your spells at the right times is much more important than just doing a little bit of extra damage.
Get a Psychology Book those usually results in instants kills, you'll knock any carry over without farm.
