I wanted to try a shot at the agil ganker hero competeition. Here is my submission for the next coolest ganker in HoN.
His name is Chopum and he is a Legion hero. I am flexible on the name, but it's meant to be humorous with a pun intended, kinda like Moraxus. I think there isn't a hero like this in HoN yet, and I think he is very unique. He can be played with almost any set up, and his play style will very according to how you want to play and set him up.
Early on when laning, he can use his long range attacks to get at enemies, especially when its 2 melee vs 2 range. It will be very good for lat hittin creeps and catching running away heroes.
His second skill is what makes his play style. He has a double dash. Unlike all of the other heroes who have single location dash/teleport (Myrm, Hag, Kraken, Valk, Magebane, etc.) Chopum can split his dash in two short intervals. He can dash forward twice, to get a proper chase down distance, or backwards for running away, or he can combine it with his first skill which gives him range. It would look something like this: dash back, use the ranged attack, dash forward to continue melee attack. Or you can use it for some sweet, around the corner jukes. Very good for avoiding bomber's stickies.
His third skill is also quite cool i think. By itself it's a very fun and deadly ambush ability. You can stalk the enemy's jungle, use it in laning, gank. It can be used defensively to avoid dying. Combined with the dashing skill, it would look very cool to dash back from the enemy onto a tree and climb it. Where it shines, I think, is how it works against Deadwood and tree destroying abilities/items. It would look pretty cool for Deadwood to break the tree ur stalking on or just clear cut u off of it. Players can do it with an axe (timber!) or Engineer's keg. It adds further interaction with the trees, something that has lagged in development since Deadwood. I think the trees are a mistakenly unexplored resource that can add a lot of depth to the game.
His ulti is not a game-breaking ulti, like tempests, but can be very deadly if timed properly. You can combo your entire skill tree: stalk, ambush from the trees, dart back, cobra strikes, dart forward, ulti. Of course, you can use its stun to break the enemy's channeling (epic panda vs chopum fight), or you can use it defensively to get away thanks to the knockback. You can send the enemy flying into trees. Or maybe it would be cooler if the enemy was stunned for another 2 seconds if he/she hit thee tree.
His ulti is also half magic half physical damage, after lvl 1 it's more magical than physical which can both give him an edge or be detrimental, if he is in a highly inteli-based team.
1v1, Chopum is pretty deadly, like Fayde, but he loses potency in team fights, especially against many stuns. He is fragile as an agility hero, even though he has quite a few escape moves. He will look pretty cool in team fights, kicking serious ass, and in ganks.
A nice hero overall. A bit similar to something I had in mind not too long ago.
Not commenting on balance here(I was too lazy to do any math), but I think the skills are good and original. I especially liked the 1st and 2nd abilities.
What I'd suggest is that you'd change the 3rd ability a bit so it doesn't absolutely require trees. I understand you want it to bring the trees more into an aspect of strategy, but the requirement can really hinder that ability in hectic team battles.
I'd suggest changing the ability so it doesn't require trees but you get a good bonus when benefitting from them. This would allow your hero to pull off strong ganks using the trees but also be a safer pick for team battles. A little re-adjustment of other abilities may needed though.
But, as I said, a good hero as a whole. Keep the good work up.
