Alright, so we all know this community is full of unsportmanlike, selfish e-thugs. My case and point, read the responses to this post.
How fun is it to be on the bottom side of a 4v5 from 1 minute in? None at all. If the game goes 4v5 20 minutes in, thats one thing. But from the start, it just completely makes the game fubar unbalanced and a waist of time for those poor 4 people. (insert you are terrible and can win 4v5 comments here).
I would prefer the culture of the HoN community to change from elitists unsportsmanlike people to people who would actually help other people and remake when it goes 4v5 before the opening horn, but that is like asking someone to sell you the wining lottery ticket. Good luck with that.
Can we figure out a way, S2, so that we can remake easier when it goes to 4v5? Perhaps change the amount needed for a remake vote to 4 if the leave is within the first 5 minutes or something? I always vote yes to remake when it goes 4v5 in my favor, because I find the game boring, overpowered and a waist of time to play 4v5. I like a fair fight.
Sure you can pause, but a lot of the time they aren't coming back. Sometimes they do, but when they don't, wtf. Its a minute into the game people. Take another minute to get into another and play 5v5.
(Case and point to my opening statement below.)
I recommend that the PSR/MMR loss/gain be adjusted
The team of 5, their PSR/MMR gain/loss for the game is not affected
The team of 4, their PSR/MMR loss is mitigated:
if at the start of the game the psr gain/loss based on winning/losing is
Player 1 +4/-4
Player 2 +6/-6
Player 3 +6/-6
Player 4 +8/-8
Player 5 +10/-10
Then with a leaver it becomes:
Player 1 +6/-2
Player 2 +9/-3
Player 3 (leaver) +0/-9
Player 4 +12/-4
Player 5 +15/-5
The idea is that you gain +50% PSR/MMR benefit if you win 4/5 from the start, but you lose 50% less PSR/MMR for losing 4/5. Also, the leaver cannot gain any PSR/MMR if the team wins, whereas if the team loses the leaver gets a +50% PSR/MMR loss penalty.
In these scenarios, the leaver must have d/c'd before the first creep wave spawns at 0:00, I also think additional compensated gain/loss should be calculated if it becomes 3v5, or 3v4, etc.
The scale can be adjusted, it doesn't have to be 50% per se, I just used that because the math is easy. It's just like being in a game lobby before starting, the PSR/MMR gain/loss is automatically skewed if it's 4v5 or 3v5 based on PSR/MMR numbers. Those numbers and calculations for gain/loss become locked-in once the game starts. I suggest rather than locking them in at the start of the game, that they are locked in at the 0:00 game timer when the first creep wave spawns. That way the PSR/MMR system takes it into account if either team loses players before the laning phase.

Dunning–Kruger effect: a cognitive bias that causes unskilled people to make poor decisions and reach false conclusions, but their incompetence denies them the ability to realize their mistakes. The unskilled therefore suffer from illusory superiority, rating their own ability much higher than it actually is. This leads less competent people to rate their own ability higher than more competent people.
That is a decent idea. However, I still feel that losing a player so early in the game is so devastating to the entire strategy of the team that it makes the game extremely hard to win. If they left after 25 minutes, you get leaver items. These items can simply boost a single character to make up for the lose of a player. Losing a player within the first 5 minutes will usually grant you a minor totem, some trees and boots, if you are lucky.
I know that the game also distributes the leavers gold to the team, but I am not sure if you get any extra gold per tick after that. Even then, that small increase in trickle is not worth losing an entire player who has nukes and items.
they should just make a disconnect within first 7 minutes only need 4/5 votes. it couldnt be abused easily because your friend or smurf would have to eat a disconnect for it. i also think a psr loss should go to the disconnectee.
It use to be 4 vote a while back dont know why thay changed it ,its just unfare.
One of your teams dc's or leave for some reason and you can even remake before 7mins.9 out of 10 this isent a problem since there will be one person on the opposite team who dosent actually want the free psr/mmr.
This should be fixed asap, few games back i remeber saying to my mejt dont worry we can remake before 7mins ... yea i was rwong.
This was just bullcrap and the reason i press no to remakes these days.
