While Chalice has been making Sage's Lore less valuable, I want to give Vindicator back his old ability to deny heroes their mana (slightly).
What I came up was this. Why can't Master's Incantation be changed to manaburn?
At level 1 that's 3 mana per hit (neglible, Vindicator is spending 15 mana), so this won't be unbalanced in lane.
Sure, later on if he's pretty farmed and has been stealing intelligence the whole game, he'll drain ~70 mana per hit, something like magebane.
If people have qualms with that, simply have it synergize with his intelligence stealing and manaburn is equal to the difference in intelligence, which is probably less than simply doing 60% of his intelligence in manaburn.
Thoughts, Ideas? I was trying for an angle where Master's Incantation can be chosen to ranked up before his aura.
not a buff. a change.
instead of true damage on top of normal damage, master's incantation will manaburn instead, making his lategame capable of making up for his squishy early-mid game.
If the numbers are handled correctly it won't be either a buff or a nerf.
But regardless of the numbers this would make the MI+stats or MI+Aura build much stronger in the laning phase. That's the place where mana is more important than hp. But lategame heroes will have more mana than they need, so HP damage will be more important than MP damage.
Interesting and creative sugestion, but i don't think heroes should be changed too much. Many people still miss the old rampage, old kraken, etc.
The more assassin's shrouds, the more assassin you are.
I was considering it a % based thing, with his ult an underlying factor.
So instead of 60 true damage directly (with rank 4 and 100 int), Vindicator COULD burn 60 mana instead and have his damage be the same as any other manaburn effect (as in, 80% of burnt mana is dealt as damage).
