Yesterday played a game with devourer and found accidentally his best counter , I ve named the Blood hunter.
What he just needs is his silence .
When you have turn rot on , He just have to silence you and you cannot turn rot off.
And 30s with rot on if you don t have a behe heart , even if yo have shaman headress will reduce you from 60-70% hp.
Bug or not still he can impeach you getting frags and farming very very easily.
Definitely one of the best counter to devourer

how about when some1 is chasing you turn around and stun them then keep running so you dont die.

Thats what people do all the time in Dota. Another silence method is the get Hellflower which silences for 5 sec X100 +(5x100x25%/100) as it implifies damage. meanning a total of 625 dmg.
Also dont get hooked plz, but if u do, stun/disable him if you can, or else run towards the trees and move around them so that the Fog covers you and try to lose the devourer. NEVER RUN IN A STRAIGHT LINE AWAY FROM DEVOURER -.-
In DotA, I loved to pick Invoker and max Quas (for Coldsnap) ASAP.
For non-DotA players: Coldsnap damages and mini-stuns the target everytime it is dealt damage
I prefer maxing Exort and using deafening blast on Pudge then just fight head on with him =D surely wins ^^
Exort increases damage, while deafening blast pushes the enemy away and prevents them from attacking for a period of time.
The best counter to pudge is loling and destroying the team that was stupid enough to pick pudge.
I shall add to your find, Blood Hunter's Ultimate severely nerfs Devourer since he usually uses Decay+CHASING to kill people. That gives BH an edge over most other silencers.
blood hunter is one good way to counter devourer rot, but then again, devourer always roam, so you're not going to fight him everytimes. a good devourer wont let u silence him easily. Get into fogs put on his rot hook then ulti your deadmeat. so a way to counter devourer is actually with ward and not get hooked.
Wow, this is pretty awesome. I'd lol SO hard if I managed to silence Devourer and he Rotted to death.
Shamans headdress + behemoths heart + silence = devourer still not taking damage with rot on.

Wow people here are being dicks.
In any event, I believe this works for any toggle skill.
I've never tried but I think it applies on torturer's alt...would be a great way to waste his mana.
wow what and idea lol - BH virtually can counter any hero with strong casts and so he will be possibly nerfed soon .
to the point BE AWARE OF HIM - unless you see him somewhere on map think like he can be hiding somewhere in for around you at any time - keep moving if you dont need to stand , try to find spots between creeps if you are standing still.
a direct counter to butcher - strong melee or sneak chars can be considered a counter in a way - best of best dont let him farm, gank him before he ganks you , profit
