    Vindicator Help

    How do i play besides using the first skill to annoy your opponents during laning phase...

    i start with three minor totems, two sets of runes, and two mana pots...
    what other items are core and luxury?

    and i heard there's two ways of building him?

    Two builds regarding skills, one by maxing mana drain first, second by skipping it entirely and focusing on his orb attack + aura.

    Regarding items there are 2 possibilities:
    1. With alchemist bones
    2. Without alchemist bones
    The first is better but requires more experience to execute properly, so i recommend the second.

    In both cases the items you build are quite the same.
    STR Steamboots, power supply (optional imo), and any of those after
    :TabletOfCommand::FrostfieldPlate::KuldrasSheepsti ck::FrostwolfsSkull::Nullstone:
    Nullstone is better when you need to counter annoying single target spells like Rampage's charge, deadwood's punch or sandwraith's ulti, Frostfield when you face dangerous physical attackers. And the other 3 are general porpose, good in any situation. Especially :TabletOfCommand: & :FrostwolfsSkull:.

    :Hellflower: is also good, but it synergies better with the "mana drain" build, because getting 2 scarabs early will allow unlimited sage's lore spam.

    And always carry a :HomecomingStone:, it's your main escape mechanism, especially if you don't have :TabletOfCommand:.
    The more assassin's shrouds, the more assassin you are.

    im by no means pro with Vindi but i do enjoy playing him.

    My usual build is
    :MarkOfTheNovice::MarkOfTheNovice::RunesOfTheBligh t::Courier:

    From then
    :Marchers::TalismanOfExile::TalismanOfExile:

    :Steamboots::TalismanOfExile::TalismanOfExile: :TabletOfCommand:

    :Stormspirit: or :KuldrasSheepstick: after depending on farm yes you are squishy but you should never be in the thick of team fights always on the periphery. Also make sure you are always buying :WardOfSight: as during the mid game you are nowhere near as useful as early and late. the whole point of his game up until late is purely harass and support. Late you can dish some damage but gain this should not be a primary focus hence the disable items you are buying.

    Also once managed to get :RestorationStone: on him for double ulti which was good in team fights though more than a little impractical. Hope this kind of helps, no doubt someone with higher PSR and a better understanding of the game will give you more support.

    Vindicator can be played in more then one role. So there are different item and skill builds.

    Support/Babysit:

    Items:
    Start with basic stats + :Courier:/:WardOfSight:
    follow with :TabletOfCommand: :WardOfSight: :stri:/:Steamboots: :WardOfSight: :PowerSupply: :WardOfSight:...

    Skills:
    Max your nuke/drain and skill your aura. And get stats over your atack skill.
    Always get your ulti a 6.

    Carry:

    Items:
    If you play him as a carry start with :MarkOfTheNovice: :MarkOfTheNovice: :MinorTotem: :MinorTotem: :RunesOfTheBlight: :HealthPotion:
    Then follow this up with :TalismanOfExile::TalismanOfExile::Steamboots:
    Then get items like :KuldrasSheepstick::Nullstone::Hellflower:
    And if the situation requires it you could also get :FrostfieldPlate::ShrunkenHead:

    Skills:
    Skip your nuke and max your atackskill +aura. If you need extra hp you could also skill stats over lvl 2 aura. Always get your ulti a 6. If you lane against a lane you could crush with your nuke you could get it early and skip your aura after lvl 1, but in most cases its better to nget stats instead of it.

    I have watched some competitive players max incantation first and take 3-4 levels of early stats (1 pt in aura), makes you much more effective if you're laning against heroes who can easily shake off sages lore ( etc).

    Usually I aim for :Steamboots: :TabletOfCommand: :Nullstone: (:VoidTalisman :KuldrasSheepstick:. Priority 1 survivability then after that just stack int. Will ward with him if no-one else does but ideally he can use some farm.

    Frostwolf skull doesn't work with the orb, but it applies global slow with your ultimate. It works with geometer illusion, but that's a lategame luxury
    The more assassin's shrouds, the more assassin you are.

    There's a premium guide for him, read it.

    The three main parts of vindi is to be an ass in the lane, keeping your enemies away from it. It's important to hit both players with your hp/mana drain.

    The other part is his ulti. Learn when to use it; if you use it too early they'll back away until it wears off, if you use it too late they've already used their skills.
    So use it just right, prolly just after initiation. You could also save it in order to interupt something like a tempest ulti.

    The thrid thing is using him as a counter pick, his aura can render some heroes as chipper useless as they can't combo their skills. A who can't burst is a worthless squirrel.

    Oh, master's incarnation is not an attackmodifier. I don't remember exactly the name for it, but it counts as a "higher attack modifier" or something like that, the important thing is that it do stack with attack modifiers.

    As for items, stack int on him, tablet of command is a great item. Steamboots and talismans of exile are good too. Sheepstick is good but expensive. Just support items in general.

    Positioning is extreamly important when playing vindi. If you get focused down before you've got the chance to use your ulti you've lost that teamfight. Stay back, your ulti hits all the targets anyways, no matter where you are, as long as you're alive and able to cast it. So don't be in the middle of the fight, stay on the outskirts where your aura still gives it's effect and where you can pump out dps with auto attacks.

    There's a carry vindi build too, but personally I think there's better carries, and you shouldn't pick vindi as a carry, but rather step in if your original carry fails.

    Do NOT play vindi as a carry, EVER
    Alchemist bones is a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE idea. it gives him ZERO hp and doesn't allow him to properly support.

    You should be harassing and spamming sages lore as much as possible. However better vindi players will harass with Orb instead of lore (blood chalice was an indirect nerf to vindi)
    DO NOT EVERRRRRRRRRR STACK INTELLIGENCE ON HIM. I realize it increases his damage, but you need to survive in a team fight, thats the whole point of his aura. This is a mistake so many people make, they stack Talismans or something on him and die almost instantly in a team fight. You'll be much better staying in the fight longer for 2 reasons:
    1.: Your aura silencing enemies
    2.: When someone dies you'll be stealing INT from them, you dont steal int when your dead.

    For these reasons Support items that give HP are nice. Tablet is still a good idea on him however the HP removal from it was a nerf for him. I prefer Steamboots/2 bracers/Tablet/Chalice as core. Then work towards a void talisman and a sheep stick. (you will never get them typically).

    Also something else to realize as well (that my fellow vindi playing friend doesn't realize). Vindi is NOT good every game, he is extremely situational and in the wrong lane is borderline useless. So be aware of that.

    While i disagree with the point that you should NEVER play vindi as a carry hero, i agree with pretty much everything else. (as long as you exclude carry vindi from the advice) Dont stack int on a support vindi, and there is not realy a reason to skill his orb at all. You need the hp for you aura and if you start with aura+sages lore, you can not lvl your orb before lvl 10 and it is not realy strong at low lvls. So at the point you have it on a lvl were it would matter you die in 3 hits anyway so you cant use it, +8 stats is superior in this situation.

    The only way its usefull is when you get lvls, items, stats and you get it early. And this is only the case if you play carry vindi. You should never try to mix this things. If you support early you cant carry later, since vindi carry is all about the huge midgame dps that you can never get this way.

    Do not play vindy as dedicated support never its not worth it..
    He and Puppet are the hardest intelligence hitters in the game...
    Position in the teamfight is the key to actually playing him correctly
    I usually do him like this :EnhancedMarchers::PowerSupply::chal::FortifiedBra celet::FortifiedBracelet::WardOfSight:
    Dont be complete ward buyer only but get some ward`s and try to farm a bit
    if you can farm get :VoidTalisman::Nullstone::FrostfieldPlate:,,,, :KuldrasSheepstick::Hellflower: ( like for CM only...)
    and remember your presence in fights is insane if you stay alive
