Devourer Wars ALPHA
Abilities 1 (hook, upgrade range) and 2 (upgrade speed) work, abilities 3 and 4 don't yet. Three working items: Pebble's Hand (toss enemies), Pharaoh's Grapple (grab onto posts and pull yourself to them), and Unstable Keg (just a mine, not finished yet... you'll be able to use Pebble's Hand to toss the mines when it's done). They have five levels (buy the recipe 5 times).
Try it out! Cooldowns will not be so low in any release versions, they're low for testing purposes. In fact, ALL numbers will be changed at some point. Make sure you host it with normal mode, not casual mode.

Is this going to be similar to pudge wars on wc3? Cause that game was LEGIT, and i want to see it replicated in hon
i'm poised at what you can achieve with the map editor... i couldn't figure out much tbh.

I can't remember if that little "post" blocked Pudge's Hook in WC3 or not though. If it does then you'll need to do something similar to Kraken's projectile stopping mechanic (such that if it hits a tree or a cliff, it'll stop - you can obviously customize this to your needs).
I don't know if there's a trait the posts will have that is unique to them, but you can substitute them with trees if need be.

wouldn't it be a lot easier to check if there is a gadget at that "post" and if theres no gadget spawn one that is hookable, only suffers from physical damage and has 1 hp?
i never worked myself into the hon scripting language, but my idea would be a single line of code in pretty much every language i know.
I set the entity type to "prop_tree" and made the targetscheme only hit trees. Easy enough.
It should completely skip the hero pick screen, and I always use the first legion slot. o.O

I can't remember, but did pudge's hook bounce off walls? I feel like it did.

I actually just finished the "grappling hook" item... which allows you to grapple on to the posts and pull yourself to them. It's pretty much just a modified pharaoh ult. I set the targetscheme to "trees", then made their type "prop_trees" or whatever.
In pudge wars it did... the code involved with that is ridiculous, though. So i think this is only going to be able to have straight hooks.At least for now.
