Game Lobby crashes randomly

When I join a game lobby, I crash at random times. This has been occuring since the 2.0 patch.

It can happen while loading the lobby, or when I sit down and wait for a minute, or when I wait 5 minutes, when I haven't touched the mouse or keyboard at all. When the game starts and the hero selection screen opens, the game never crashes. It also never crashes while not in a game.


Usually it crashes and I get a crash report. Sometimes, it crashes and I get nothing. Sometimes it crashes but keeps playing music in the background while not displaying any window.

A heads up, these things didn't fix it:
- I've reinstalled the game in Program Files (x86)
- I've moved the game to C:\HoN
- I've moved the game to the folder My Documents\HoN
- I've disabled all the addons
- I'm running HoN as administrator without any firewall on

I'm looking into this. Your dumps are all due to heap corruption. It looks like it's crashing when you're disconnecting from the game (possibly being kicked?).

I read another topic on this board and our issues seem to match.


When me or someone else is kicked, I often crash. (I hear the PLOINK kick sound.) It's probably also when someone just leaves the game, but I can't verify it because I crashed.



I did try this out, but it seems that it doesn't always crash when someone is kicked/leaves. Sort of a 1 in 3 chance that it happens. I tried turning on/off exclusive mode but that didn't fix it.
