    [Map] Pacman HoN Style






    FIRST THOUGHTS


    Your thinking WTF is this???? Well this is my new map that is started making.

    So this map is about PACMAN.
    WTF pacman who would wanna play the damn pacman???? - Well i will explain hold on.

    GENERAL IDEA :


    So thinking of making this map Multiplayer and it will look like pacman maps (thinking of making 10 maps then upgrade to 20 when i get more stuff out)

    So you will be able to choose to play Pacman or the evil Creeper and i am thinking of making 2v4 and 3v1 (or even 4v1 i really dont know if it will be too easy will need to test it to balance it out this is open for suggestions).

    Now there will be 3 types of Pacman and 3 types of creepers as well as 3 stats for pacmans to have (these stats dont give hp or mana or armor but indicate how good is pacman in certain areas on a scale from 1-10)

    The goal is to pick up all of the balls on the field without enemy wtf owning your ass.

    IF your playing the enemy you need to wtf own his ass!

    CLASSES :

    Pacman Classes
    :

    Escape - This is a class that specialises in blinking, leaping and escaping situations and its targeted to pick up the balls without being cought by the enemy.

    Power (Assault) - This class i made to damage and stun targets (potentially kill them) to reduce the treat of being damaged.

    Supply (Protection) - This class is made to disable, heal and shield himself and his allies to ensure safe ball picking


    These classes are not strict if you choose a Supply that dosent mean you wont have escape or damage abilites same of other classes.


    Creeper Classes :

    Creeper Assassin - This class specialises in assaulting his enemies with his attacks and slashes while coming and suprising the Pacman when cought off guard. (has dmg -> he attacks)

    Fiend Creeper -This class specialises in catching the pacman and cutting his way trough. (This class deals damage to a pacman when stands near him or going trough him)

    Magic Creeper - This class deals ranged attacks and often a support to other classes: Specialises in assaulting pacman with skillshots and making the assassins job easier. (Often has ranged attack but very weak and often not so long range)

    STATS :

    There are 3 stats and all have a scale from 1-10.
    Power - Escape - Supply

    Each pacman has different atributes and skills. So lets say a Escape Pacman will have stats similar to 4-2-7 while a lets say Supply pacman will have 3-3-8 (this is just guessing)

    Each pacman will have 5 abilities and each ability can be upgraded by certain number of points assigned for each round..

    GAMEPLAY :

    The goal of the game for pacman is to pick up all the balls and then win the round!
    The goal of the game for creepers is to stop the pacman from obtaining all the balls.

    After the pacman(s) have lost or won new round is setup with different terrain! The first one to win a set amount of rounds is deemed the winner!

    RECOMMENDATION :

    The point of this game is to play it and relax when you just get out of a stressfull HoN Matchamaking/Pub game and would like to relax and enjoy yourself.

    NOTICE :

    Since my knowledge in C++ as well as this editor is very limited i am looking for a person to share the project with.

    If anyone is interested pm me here on the forums.

    I am not someone to leech of someone else's work and will work hard to do my share (i am a fast learner) and i search lots of guides trough internet just to make a small thing work.

    I will work 2-5 hours a day on this (because of the exams which will be done till monday next week)

    I will update the tread with more details and screenshots as i keep working on it!

    PROGRESS :

    These are the Basic features needed only to run the basic map it still will be playable but will be missing ALOT of fun extra aspects of the game that will be revealed.

    hm, looks interesting, guess it would be a nice intro to mapmaking in HoN. dunno if it will work tho, as no maps have been created yet.

    hope to see some nice stuff.


    also, someone pls make a new dota in hon, one without the damn shop!

    Sounds interesting enough.

    I think more diverse game modes will make Hon even more enjoyable ie. your pacman

    Anyone want to bring in TD? But then it'll just be WC3 all over again xP

    I will work hard on this but will require someone to help me out because if we work in 2 it will go much much faster .

    How will you test this ? As far as I know there is no way to test custom maps in multiplayer at this time.

    Yeah why not?
    If you execute it well, it could be funny.

    I suggest you work in small iterations, make a map (should be the easiest part because of the nice terrain editor), try to make the some basic stuff first and work you way up to a working pacman game

    well i would love to get a partner though since my knowledge is pretty limited and i think it would go much smoother with 2 of us.

    I dont need a knowitall guy just someone whos willing to work on it and search the internet to make it happen

    I think making 10 maps and Heroes (pacmans, creepers) wont be such a hard task and the teleport from the sides of every pacman map i can just copy from Grims Crossing.

    All that needs some tough work will be Balls, win conditions and map(minimap) changing.


    Now after i do all those basic stuff i will make it more in depth and fun with adding some nifty extra features that make the game more diverse and that it dosent feel boring for the Creepers nor that it gets repeptitive!!

    Haha yeah i feel with you.
    I also want to make some mods/costum maps, but atm i have no idea how hard it will be.

    I wish you good luck with your project, and if you don't find someone to make this project with you, you can just ask on the forum, i'm sure in some weeks there are some people who can aswer all your questions.

    its just a small/medium sized pacman maze nothing to be excited about :P

    What dimension would you guys prefer each map???

    For now its 40-21 in the square grid is that too little???
    Im planning on making 50-24 what are your thoughts?
