So i was wondering if iron shields 20 damage block and Helm of the Black Legions 40 damage block stack with each other? So you could theoretically block 60 damage 70% of the time?
Nope, most you can block is 40.
Basically having both means that if your hotBL doesn't block the damage, then the iron shield could.
If a hero attacked you, there is a 70% chance helm with block 40, if that doesn't block then there is a 100% chance iron shield will block 20 damage.
Lets go in deep,
With HotL only you can block 28 damage per attack in a perfect world.
With Iron Shield only you can block 20 per attack.
With both you can block 70% of 40 damage and 20% of 30% of 20 damage.
Because only the most will block, one at a time only.
70% of 40 is 28 damage per attack.
20% of 30% of 20 is 1.2 damage per attack.
Which is 29.2 damage blocked per attack. This is why you should not get both.
My math might be wrong as I just got C in my mid-term exam.
Yeah um, iron shield has 100% chance to block 20 damage, iron buckler has 60% chance.
70% chance to block 40 damage, average = 28
30% chance to block 20 damage, average = 6
add together = 34 damage blocked on average per hit.
