Ludus Novicius
Ludus Novicius, Roman for Novice School, is designed to help teach newcomers to Heroes of Newerth in a friendly environment. We currently have 300+ members, inhouse daily and have different types of teaching structures. So if you're interested in upping your game or teaching the newbies of Heroes of Newerth, then Ludus Novicius might just be for you!

Need to discuss something? Talk to others, but they are offline? Then use our clan forums! It's also a good way to sign up for events and training programs.
Ventrilo
With this you can chat it up over vent with your buddies in the clan while spectating inhouses or other things!
In-game Clan Bot
With this you can easily find when inhouse games are up by typing !ih and you may even apply to the clan by typing !joinclan, among other fun commands like !ask.(Bot is under construction.)
Clan IH
We have daily inhouses and often times, these are meant for training purposes or practice. Most of the time, they are simply for fun to hang out with other LN members!
Training Programs
You can't forget our training exercises, such as learning houses and mentor/student teaching in Ludus Novicius!
We try to provide the best experience we can to newcomers and always trying to improve! We are also open to mentors to teach our members as well.
How do I join?It's very easy to join! Ask yourself these questions first and if you have said no to any of them, maybe you aren't suited to be a member of Ludus Novicius.
If you can maintain those simple goals we have set for everyone applying, you should be good to go.
- You must have speakers or a headset. You can't learn OR teach if you can't hear the other player!
- Open mind. We have many different kinds of players from all over the world, so try to be nice to everyone.
- Remember our roots! We are a training clan, so whether you're a student or a mentor, never forget that you're here to learn or teach just like everyone else and that not everyone might not be up to par, why else would they join?

Is the bug fixed so we no longer need a mod in order to be in the clan?

I will not be playing in these inhouses anymore. The standards have gotten really low, almost all the games are just trolling contests, with people caring more about spamming nonsense in caps lock than they do about the game. I would much rather play pubs, atleast people will care whether they lose or not, even if its just for the stats.
Statistics are like bikinis. What they reveal is suggestive(PSR), but what they conceal is vital("true" PSR).

We recently added several new officers to combat this issue. I am sorry it got this far out of hand but I promise that it will improve shortly. Also, make sure when joining that they are official LN matches. If they aren't they don't have to follow our rules and that obviously causes issues.

To be fair, most of the "LN ih's" don't even have full LN members that I've seen.
There is maybe 3-4 LN players and the rest are from other clans or friends. I will be trying to get real clan inhouses going.
This is a problem we are trying to fix as we get all the new officers and stuff get settled in to help.
We really need people to be on and not afk if they aren't in game already to have a full LN IH.

TheSopranos has been breaking forum rules all week and making you guys look like asshats.
Word.. As a former member of LN (<3) I am disappointed to see that such an asshat is allowed to still be persistent in the clan.

Iirc LN is about the inhouses and that's it. Raging in Pubs doens't matter, trolling on the forums doesn't, either.
Anything else would be damn stupid anyways. You can't keep clan members on a short leash.

Speaking from personal experience, most people are different ingame to what they are on forums or vent etc.

LN can only control LN sanctioned events so anything that is said on the forums or in other games that have nothing to do with LN can't really be stopped since an officer has no power over that. Our hope is that LN members behave appropriately at all times because it is unfortunate when someone with our tag tarnishes our name.
However, I do have the power to stop someone if they are acting out on the forums since I am a mod. That has nothing to do with LN but it does have to do with people following the forum rules. If you see someone on the forums causing trouble, LN or not, please report them using the report function.
Edit: Just checked and TheSopranos is not a member of LN. Take that however you want.

So what you're basically saying is everything everyone already knew and then putting a little bit of penis stroking in there. Loved the post, reminds me of bad mods on other forums.
Fun games and decent people most of the time. Grokken rages hard and makes me laugh. Only suggestion I have is take away Lego pirates officer status he seriously bans people for no reason. Examples being getting a codex or running a trivia game that he got a question wrong in.

From what I've seen it's only been going downhill the last weeks. Unless you have somehow miraculously cleaned out all the bad guys in like 2 days I doubt it is any better.Just so you all know... The LN IH's have gotten a lot better. We played a game, and it lasted about... 60 Minutes. We had some fun, we gave some tips. It was in all honesty, the best IH i have ever played. We have a lot of good members, and we have new recruits all the time. I'm doing my personal best to look at replays, look into ragers/smurfs/etc. I love LN, and i love hosting/playing clean, fun in-houses. If you guys do have a complaint, or have evidence of a smurf, rager, or anything else. You can send me a PM in-game, or on the forums, and i will gladly look over it.

Ludus' IH are fun. I played 2 or 3 times with them and it's definately a respectable clan.

I decided to watch a LN IH just to see if anything has changed. Nothing has changed at all. The games are just like 4chan at the moment, lots of trolls, nobody cares about anything, nobody follows the rules, and nobody tries to enforce them. There are no officers anywhere, they log on maybe once a week to play a game, and the only reason they ban people is because they don't like them.

Define trolls? Someone trying to have fun by getting a codex? Yea it happens. Don't see the problem with it tho sometimes I don't wanna try hard in a game that has 5 players under 1500.
Yes is happens. Like 3 times every game. People pick scout and goes codex/shroud/whatever, spams random crap in caps lock and doesnt give a ****. How is that helpful to anyone? How can people learn anything when people go scout with shroud/pk/sotm/tablet and skills stats over wards?
