    Corrupted disciple: Tanky or DPS?

    ^

Would you build him DPS or tanky? Is it situational to either build him tanky or DPS, or does one of them give more damage output?

    Discuss!

He's a carry focused around his activated abilities, and those abilities get better the longer he's in a fight. So building him as a tank makes sense because the longer he stays alive, the more dangerous he becomes. He doesn't have a crit, bash, or attack modifier so building him around solely his auto attack isn't very productive.

And with tanky i should just see what the situation is, and apply to that right?
    Like: aoe heavy=shaman, disable heavy=shrunken, physical=hotbl, single target nukes=nullstone
and after a tanky item would you build something dps? Or a behemoths heart?

I'll save you the headache of deciding: don't play .

If you insist on playing him though, go for a :ShrunkenHead:, then the Frostburn -> :FrostwolfsSkull::GeometersBane: build. Those two will give you the stats you need, making you decently tanky while not making you depend on conduit to give you damage that you may or may not be able to pull off in a fight. You'll need better positioning with this build, but you'll be a lot more effective.

CD kinda sucks balls now... but you mix dps and EHP on him.

something like phase frostburn shamans DBP savage works really well

Honestly, cd isn't a bad hero, but if he is focused down he doesn't do anything for his team, almost becoming a one nuke and done hero for the team. If you build tanky and get shamans, behemoths, hotbl, or the usual tank items, you get to become a much bigger threat to the enemy team than if you go geo's or frostburn. Get that 200 damage conduit and their -15+ armor and THEN see what build you should have gone for.

But of course, I just like laughing at them, saying, "You can't kill me!"
Whether or not tanking is the better build is up to you. It's my preferred build because I win when I use it.

Tank him up a bit first then go whatever you feel you need.

I usually build him as a tank-DPS hybrid

CD can certainly tank, but my favorite build is A hybrid/MS build.

Core::ShrunkenHead::EnhancedMarchers: and Frostburn. This gives CD a good amount of HP, magic immunity, good damage, and most importantly, insane MS. If you get into trouble, just run away. If the enemy team has disables, pop your shrunken and run.

    As for teamfights,
    1. Pop ult, conduit, and Shrunken.
    2. Target their squishiest hero.

Frostwolf and Geo Bane has 2 ultimate orbs in there already, for lots and lots of strength. I also really like Barbed Armor. After that, for more DPS get a Charged Hammer, as the activated effect really helps deal out more AoE damage if people target you. For more HP a heart is fine.

I've always been more of a steamboots person with him but that is just my opinion

    bottle -> steamboots -> frostburn -> shrunken -> geo -> frostwolf

get dps items that also have defensive elements to them:

    frostburn/ shrunken head/ geos/ frostwolf/ wingbow/ daemonic

only pure dps item you should ever get on cd is riftshards for 1000 dmg crit conduit ownage.

:EnhancedMarchers::ShrunkenHead::GeometersBane::Wingbow: :BehemothsHeartr:SavageMace: (lategame selling phase for posthaste so you can open 1 slot in your inventory for a heart or mace.

    WARNING:
if you go for :GeometersBane: and want to activate it in a fight, you should do it before you cast Conduit. if you activate it after, it will dispell your Conduit. I noticed some people are not aware of that...

I usually go DPS if they have a bunch of Shrunken Head carries, since it's hard to get Conduit to stick for more than a second or two into mid/late game.

There's a reason he's one of the most boring heroes in the game at the moment.
