Is there a way to set up dual monitors and play HoN? The things I was hoping was to change the minimap to being the entire second screen (maybe help a bit with my map awareness).

Maybe Mini UI would do the trick. Set the screen as extended maybe? And move the map over on the other screen. Idk, worth a try.
Omfg 2nd screen minimap would be amazing. I approve this idea, but idk if it's possible

Not directly possible according to Bangerz. He said he might try to work something out with ultramon to get it to work, but I don't know if he's done anything with that since.
wow, best idea !
An article everyone got to read : http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/sh...ding-your-Game
I messed around with this before in this thread.
I currently don't have dual screens at home, but I will at work starting tomorrow, so I'll try to mess around with it sometime when I'm there. This mod should give you gameplay on the left screen and the minimap on the right screen: LeftScreen_Game-RightScreen_Minimap.honmod
Here's what it looks like on my single 1920x1080 monitor:
And here it is with the UI hidden:
When I test it on a single monitor it seems to bug out and makes it impossible to level-up skills normally (not sure why), so use it at your own risk. I can still level-up skills by binding it to a hotkey, but the level-up buttons on screen are white and don't respond to clicks. Also, the UI probably won't scale to fit on the left screen automatically, so you'll have to use another mod that allows you to move the UI around.

Just remembered this.
Basically you arent modifying the game using this.
Just streaming your minimap to your second monitor.
Too bad the program used in this isnt free.
I have been messing around with this, and it is probably not the most effective way, but I have got a way where it shows an enlarged version of my mini map on my second monitor.
I have opened Xsplit, copied out the screen region of where the mini map usually is, and just placed Xsplit on my second screen, not broadcasting, just sitting there. I know this is not the most ideal way of doing it, but it is a temporary way :P
Hope this helps some people!
Update: I did this for one game, and found I didn't look at it once. It may have been just the position of the screen, but I think I was just used to looking at the normal mini map, so it was my of much use. I think you would start to use it more after a while.

There is the thread, i found it, theres some mods in there you can try, not sure how outdated they are.
Alot of rts games support this natively, It just might get a bit confusing in hon as you use the edges off your screen to move the camera around, so you cant touch the big map.
If you want your second screen as mini-map, it can be done very easily with xsplit.
1. Run HoN on one screen
2. Run xsplit on the second screen
3. Capture the screen region of the mini-map with xsplit
4. Maximize that screen region in xsplit
5. Put xsplit on full screen
6. profit
You don't have to broadcast your game, you just use xsplit to capture the mini-map and display it on your second screen.
I'm thinkin about what would be easier, to read the memory to get positions (and events) of players (you could create a mod that makes this easier)
or to extend hon to two screens and use a giant mod that moves whatever to 2nd screen.
I think both ways would be fragile to hon patches. Reading memory would not cause hon to be unplayable (in error cases) while changing hon itself maybe would.
Also just using something like xplit would still "waste" part of my game screen with the map.
In best case I would like to have everything unnessessary like skills, time, stats, etc in a bigger size on screen 2. So you realy just got the thinks you have to click on on your main screen. (Seriously who does click the skills with the mouse? - you could only move the lvl up buttons to main screen).
:ChargedHammer: was my idea! prove here:
